These guys are major a**holes!  They keep calling me from 800 915-1016 and then if I don't answer they try another number 866 929-5306.  Has anyone figured out how to stop them from calling?  They say they are calling from Capitol One.  I don't have a Capitol One card and have told them that but everyday they continue to call me

If most of us had jobs 20$ wouldnt be anything! But I am sure I can speak for us all when I say I'd rather have 1/2 days of food than pay 20$ to HSBC atm!

The minium payments on the HSBC card I had became much more than "just $20." In fact, at the end of the time I was trying to stay current, they became 10 times that, as my hours at the part time job I had, were slashed; and I'd had to take cash advances, just to pay rent

I'd had that HSBC card through the Union Plus program for 10 years, and had been not only on time, but paid it off; only to have to use it, to survive, when times turned bad. Thing was, after the account was closed, penalties accrued. How did that help me in making payments.

I am reluctantly considering Chapter 7 bankruptcy, as it is the only way to stop the telephone harassment and go on with my life.

I don't understand why you people get so upset.  I lost my job a while ago, and have been hounded by collection agencies for multiple credits cards.  I will pay them off, when I am back on my feet; but until then, I don't care to talk these people.  Now, yes, it is annoying, the frequent calls, especially when you have 5 or 6 different collection companies call you, like I do.  A few pointers... anytime a number I don't recognize, calls my cell, I research it on here.  If it's a creditor, I SAVE the #, and then edit it to a "No Ringtone" style.  A few seconds worth of work, but I have about 47 #'s programmed that way.  So, they can call my cell all they want, it won't ring, or vibrate, or anything.  Also, when they call my home #, I pick up the line, and just set it on the counter.  Sometimes, I listen to them saying 'hello?' hello?'  I make them earn their paycheck.  And lastly, if you want to sleep in on the weekend, just turn your ringer off on your home phones before you go to bed the night before.  Is it annoying, yes, but why talk to these people?  Only about 10% of them are honest, so why spend time dealing with them? When the time comes and you can make a single payment to pay it off, tell them to send you a written letter for the lowest amount they can, and you'll decide if you want to pay it or not.  Tell them you're deciding whether to declare Bankruptcy or try to pay the largest sum you can, which should only be about 25% of the amount of the debt.  In any case, don't get worked up about them, and don't spend time talking to them, or yelling at them.  Pick it up, then hang up.  I hope this helps some... it's helped me take it easy enough.

These people a phishing for any information they can get.  That's the point.  It doesn't matter that you are the wrong person - they are populating their databases, and selling the data.  Until you see this point, these phone calls will continue to frustrate and make no sense to you.

Hello, I just had an issue with these people. I had been reeving call after call from them for months. I do not have any debt except a college loan, which I'm not supposed to pay on until I'm finish my degree. I called several times to try and get in touch after having messages from various agents and each time I was harassed and threatened without even be able to explain myself on the phone which upset me and caused me to lose my temper and be hung up on or hang up myself.

Finally today I got a female agent on the phone who sounded so helpful and nice. I told her I had been receiving numerous calls from this number and I would like them to stop. She asked for my phone number and proceeded to read off my fathers birth date. I told her I was Jr. and he is Sr. She then said, Well if you would like your number removed please give me his cell phone number. As if I had to make a trade with her to have my number removed. I told her that it was really none of her business and that I don't give out phone numbers. She told me I was rude and when I was ready to talk that I could call her back then slammed the phone in my ear.

I immediately called back and got a foreign female agent. I told her that I wanted my number removed from their list because they were looking for my father not me. So she looked up my number and told me that it has recently been removed. I assume the lady who hung up on me did it? What a bunch of jerks! I hope my father never sends them a penny!

I don't owe anyone money and they are calling for my cousin's ex-wife who is married to a retired Federal Judge. She is dying of cancer in a few weeks. I have not spoken to her since 1973, when she was married to my cousin in a state across the country. I am guessing the Judge will be invesitgating them soon. Oh, and they do not owe anyone any money either. I think it is a scam to steal identities!

Tim was the rep that called me. He told me I could pay a certain amount on my credit card (which is lower that what I am paying now) and get out of debt to them.  I told him I wanted my son to talk to him before I did anything.  Tim gave me the 800 number and his extension.  My son looked up that number on the internet and said it was a scam.  Goodbye 1-800-915-1016.

I have tried to work out "plans".  Some have been nice and some have not.  It is the ones who harass you and treat you like criminals that cause you not to respond to them.  I had a very good credit score 3 years ago and never would have dreamed that I would be in the position I am in now and I always paid my bills.  It makes me angry for people like you to post comments like this.  My husband is a small business owner involved in a construction related business.  We were making very good money and had no problems keeping up with our obligations.  His business has lost 75% of its gross receipts.  Until you have walked in our shoes, then please do not pass judgment.

P.R.S.    "Public Restroom Services"    Any way you spell it, its all aload of crap.  It stands to reason with the high unemployment rate we have that A. There are plenty of good folks who cant pay their bills, and B, there are plenty of scum-sucking-low-life-no-life-people that get their jollies AND make a living hastleing the former group for money. Desperate times folks....but there got to be a more respectable way to earn a living.....
