Just received a call from this number and politely told them I did not feel comfortable giving information out over the phone and then hung up. A few seconds later I received another call from 800 number and the person said they were the floor supervisor and why did I hang up. I said if you want you can mail me the info, he said they already did and so on. I said I was not interested and he started yelling at me and threatened to cancel all my credit cards and charge me a $3,000 penalty, I told him he couldn't do that and he told me I was speaking to Experian and yes he could and then proceed to call me an idiot and a stupid b.... at which time I hung up.

I received a call from this number (8009452000) but was unable to answer. I called back- they answered as Chase bank. It didn't feel right- I refused to give them any information. Hung up and called Chase directly from the number on my card- they had not called me and there were no issues with my account.

800 9452000 just called; rang three times; I picked up nobody there.  I called, supposedly Chase Bank Card Services -- As others have noted, this may or may not be Chase. I have BLOCKED; as I do all numbers that bug me and my houshold, and don't leave me a message.  Get a REAL JOB!  McDonald's; KFC, etc. is always hiring.

    Robert:

They are using a computer program that makes it only look like the call is coming from the chase number when it is really from a different phone number that you cannot see on your Caller ID.  This is very common these days and it is called "spoofing."

Two things, concerned.  NEVER answer calls from phone numbers you don't absolutely recognize.  And NEVER NEVER NEVER call any unknown number back.  Doing so just lets the scammers know that they have reached a valid phone number and that you are gullible.

I'm amazed that so many people still answer phone calls from unknown numbers.  More amazingly still, some of you actually call these scammers back.  WTF people?  Are you all 90 years old and brain dead?  Stop being so gullible people.

Called at 2:23 P.M. "Last chance " to lower credit card interest rate (for the fourth time this week) I pushed one for the "representative" and got an Indian man. I told him to give me his credit card number to buy a Macintosh CD player (about $8000), the idiot said 457733 and then hung up.

I'm using a method to block a majority of these calls. The only ones that get through are the recently "spoofed" local numbers. I "ported" my landline to Callcentric, a VoIP company. I have configured my incoming calls so that IF the number calling is on a national spam registry the call gets routed to an error message. In this case the error message is a SIT (not-in-service tone). Yesterday this number, 800-945-2000, called 3 times at 10 minutes apart. My phone didn't ring at all. They can call all they want, I don't care now. The 3 times was probably to confirm my number is not in service before it was likely removed from their calling list automatically.  Another choice is to route medium and high probability spam calls to a recording that asks for the caller to MANUALLY enter a number (you can designate) between 0-9 or a random assigned number, to be able to complete the call. This allows a REAL person to complete the call to you. This is only good for ROBO calls because a live telemarketer can listen to the message, enter the digit and also complete the call. This leads to profanity being spewed in both directions. Since I pay per minute for all calls, this was also costing me 1.5 cents every time a predictive dialer (robo) called me. I am very pleased with using VoIP because of the reduced costs for service and the ability to control who calls. My service is $3.90 per month (with E911 service) with 120 minutes outgoing included. Out-of-plan calls cost 1.5 cents per minute so for March I'll pay an additional $4.57 +/- YMMV.

The 16-year-old Indian claimed he had closed four prospects for the seven hours he had worked before calling me. I had a good conversation with him to learn some details, but didn't want to waste much time. He planned to come here, but I warned him of the shooting a couple weeks ago.
