Yes, most of the time scammers will "ignore" your questions and keep to the script they are supposed to screen you with. If your persistent in asking questions, they usually hangup and call again later.

Not sure what you mean by that, since it would be only you and the scammer on the phone....who else would you ask? But as pointed out, they would most likely lie about it, since it is a trick they use to try verifying if your lying to them.

I think "Mark F" is very lonely and needs company (troll being fed).

"... to reach you.
This is your {4th} final courtesy call before we are unable to lower your credit card interest rate.
Press 1 to speak to the member services department {a Phisherman}

Press 2 and your eligibility to lower your rate will expire {and be immediately resurrected}."

Scammers transmit real phone numbers so if the "mark" looks it up real-time they are fully taken in. Next they will ask you to "verify your security code from the back of the card" - the missing piece of info they need to drain your account. Lists of credit card info from "skimmer" devices can gather name and card number, but not the "secret code". This is a long standing scam mainly out of Mumbai and cities in Pakistan. Over 80% of funding for Taliban, ISAL, etc. comes from these specific credit card scams, have since 2010 or so. Who has ever had a bank call THEM, not know what bank you bank with (I've never had any acct with Chase), and tell you they want to LOWER your interest rates?? If it sounds too good to be true...

These criminals need to stop with the constant, multiple, irrelevant, unwanted calls!!!  This is pure harassment, invasion of privacy and total disregard for the ndnc registry!

This is a credit card scam, this week.

Card member services FRAUD CALLS!!!

Called at 6:45am ID sawed Chase Card Services. I do not even have a Chase Card. My guess it's a number used scam.

The caller offered to lower my interest rate on one of my credit cards.  I told him me couldn't, and that if he claimed that he could he would be lying.  He got indignant and ylled, "How dare you call me a liar?" That's when I told him that I only have one card, and it's a Visa debit card.  He hung up.

Typo apology - "me couldn't" should be "he couldn't".

Called but didn't leave a message.

They hang up when I ask who is calling.  They want to reduce my credit card rates.  Spam.

Everyone seems to be hung up on the fact that the number on their card is the same one as the Caller ID. This is a good time to remind people that Caller ID's can be faked. Remember your basic training. Your bank will NEVER call you and ask for your info. THIS IS A SCAM. Do not fall for it. If you did fall for it and you are here having second thoughts, report it to your bank immediately so they can monitor your accounts.

Got a called. The caller id said Chase Card Svcs. Knew it was a scam b/c I dont have Chase. Just beware

They can spoof a legitimate number in a heartbeat. Don’t be fooled and block that number!!

The scammers spoof it to make it seem like Chase is really calling.
