- Not Giving up my IdentitySame story. Fishy when you call these folks back. I called the number on Macy's website for their credit services and they confirmed 100% that I do not have an account with Macy's yet these idiots at 8009476229 are saying they have a business matter to address with me. Foolish if you give them any information. Call Macy's direct and tell these idiots to try and steal someone else's identity.
- Caller: (is it) Macy's?
- a regular shopper @ macysi too got calls from this number. but before calling them back i got to read this post.. thank you guys..
- Caller: Macys(??)
- JasonThese idiots called 12 times. They are fishing for information. Look out, do not give them any info. Report them to Macys and the authorities. This is illegal.
- It's RealIt's real. According to Macy's customer service it's a direct number to the collections department. I don't advocate calling that number back directly. But for you Macy's cardholders, i'd definitely call customer service (the number on the back of your card) and sort out whatever bill issue they have with you.
- Lynn & MikeCalled and asked for my Wife. I asked if she would know the reason for the call, and the woman said yes. I asked what the reason was, and she replied "it was a personal matter." She said to ask for Tatum. Caller ID showed: 512-754-9863 Isn't Macy's out of Ohio?

- JC| 2 repliesThis is Macy's. I opened up a Macy's card to get a total of 75% off my purchases as part of a promotion. They sent me an invoice for my $50.28 balance and two weeks later, which was still a week before my first payment was due, and they started calling several times a week. My mother had the same problem with Mervyn's when they were going under. Macy's is going under so they are desperate for your money while they can get it. They keep opening up the cards to try and thwart the appearance that they are suffering, but it's a last ditch effort. We've seen this with Eaton's up in Canada and Mervyn's and several others. Hold off on your payments and have your phone company block their number. They can't report to creditors. When they declare bankruptcy, all financial debts are consumed, so I'd hold off until the spring. Department stores all over are going under, just watch Glen Beck....It won't be long

- MarkIt's Macy's. Your macy's AMEX/VISA is actually two accounts in one. One is your revolving Macy's charges which is billed seperately from your AMEX/ everything else charges. All linked on one card. You paid a bill to the wrong MACY's account. What a stupid way to run a credit card.

- John BuehlerCalled for my wife (mispronounced the name) and would not say what the call was regarding beyond "a very important personal matter" This is a con! The woman stated her name was Verrios.

- JWCalled saying a Macy's bill needed to be paid. Asked them to fax me a copy of the bill, but they said they couldn't. Said I'd wait until I got my next bill and they got very angry insisting I pay with my checking account. Then, they asked for bank account number, etc. This is not legitimate or legal. Told them to F*** off.
- LT| 3 repliesIt is Macy's credit department. They called me, I gave them a payment over the phone. They called again a few days later for at least two weeks. I finally called them back. They told me I had the same balance that I had already paid them. They made the payment to the wrong account. Go figure. They had the nerve to tell me, next time I make a payment to give the correct account. Boy did I go off on her. Idoits called me so they applied it incorrectly.

- ErikaA lady called and asked for my boss's wife. I told her I could take a message but could not give her the direct phone number. She said her name was Miss Jackson and it was an "important business matter." All I could think was, "I'm sorry Miss Jackson, I am for real, but she is not going to get this message..." Hahaha!
- Caller: unknown
- Erika replies to LT| 2 repliesJust a little warning, you should never give any information to anyone who calls you. Ever. No matter who they say they are. The only time you should give any financial information over the phone is to a number you yourself have called so you know exactly who you're calling. Capital One tried this with me once, calling me at 11:30 p.m. and my infant son was sleeping. I hung up and immediately called their customer service line and the lady assured me it was not them who had called. Be careful!
