- Tom replies to JCYou watch Glenn Beck and your advise is to not pay your bills until spring. Yeah and this situation isn't the fault of Republians.

- Lance OwensKept getting harassing calls from this number - not behind on my bills - so I called Macy's direct, turned out it is a illegitimate number - I have 2 accounts and they applied my 2 payments to 1 account.
Macy's shame on you, if you get these calls - call them back directly.
Always trust no one, including me - but in case you don't know how to Google - here it is.

- George| 1 replyyup i just got a call from that same number it was kind of weird and creepy sounded bad and yes i havent made my payment for Macy this month so it makes sense now.
i told them i was not home so i took a msg for myself. :)- Caller: Macy's
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Emily replies to GeorgeIt's Macy's calling about your credit statement. I didn't call back the 800 number, but I called the number on the back of my credit card and the person verified for me that they were calling about my credit card bill, which I was late on a payment. I also asked about calling so many times and not being able to provide any info to whoever picks up and the man said that they are not authorized to discuss financial matters with someone who isn't you on the phone. I guess that's why they sound so shady, but it is Macy's. If you're worried, just call the number on the back of your card.
- MargaretA caller named Brian Troxall called insisting he had "a personal business matter to talk to my daughter about". He left me the 1-800-947-62229 number. I was suspect. Googled it and then read all these posts. WATCH OUT!!! Notice to Brian: I WILL NOT GIVE HER THE MSG> DO NOT CALL AGAIN>
- ME replies to Angry MomWe got a call from the number 1-800-947-6229 a Diana Alexander asked to speak to an emplyee. so call her! she will be there til 9pm today!
- VKA guy who called himself Marcellano and asked for another person in my house I asked what it was about, he said 'personal business matter', and asked to call back 18009476229. Sounded fishy, and I checked the web.
- Arinn LantripI just received a letter from these people and it says that it's Macy's but I looked on my account for Macy's and the information doesn't match at all. It says that I paid $5 short of my bill. The account number listed isn't even right. So glad I looked it up. Jerks! It says it is from FDS Bank, a sister company of Macy's. Umm my card is through American Express.
- Caller: It is listed as Macy's
- rahrahDon't give Macy's billing your bank's routing number and account number unless you're willing to pay an extra $14.00 convenience charge. They tell you that AFTER you give them the information, then won't accept "no" I don't what to do that. Ask to talk to a supervisor and the next thing you know you're listening to a dial tone. This was to the 877-204-7996 number on the back of the Macy's card.

- Concern805| 1 replyTrue. 800-947-6229 called because I missed my payment. You would think that Macy's would invest in representatives that do not sound like marketing people trying to harass you. Very disappointed.

- ed1 replies to Concern805My mom got a call from a 1-800-947-6229 # saying that she had not made a payment since july '12 which is false as we pay every month, and request a full payment over the phone. I call the number and it just requests a acct # which i found strange.. I never entered it and hung up. turns out that we are current and not a number for macys. DO NOT RETURN THEIR CALLS AND ALWAYS ASK FOR PROOF BEFORE PAYING ANYTHING.. IF ITS REALLY LATE WAHT DIFFERENCE WOULD A FEW MORE DAYS MAKE.. NONE. ALWAYS CONTACT CREDITORS ON YOUR OWN TERMS.
- Unknown| 2 repliesIt is Macy's, if you don't want to receive calls simply pay your bill.

- JOHN SMITH| 1 replyStupid People.. i encountered the same problem.. they called me more than 6 times per day. at first i ignored it for i considered it as a scam. until such time i got tired of it and answered the phone. that i know that i was almost 2 payments behind.. which i didn't know of. then i suddenly remembered that i purchased something and did make a payment.. macys is doing their part in order to help us in our credit standing.. and the good thing was at that time i was able to set up a payment over the phone and it was totally free of charge.. and from that then on up until know i pay my bills directly over the phone.. since they already have my checking account information. you all stupid people. next time you apply for any credit card. be sure to pay it off. in fact its our card therefore its our responsibility.
- Caller: MACYS
