- Jacob GeorgeI received a call this morning for my boss (who wasn't currently in) - the representative (Angela Jackson) was extremely unpleasant and started harping her "Personal Business Matter" nonsense. I advised her that, knowing my boss, he wouldn't call back a random 800 number without knowing the reason. She hastily advised me that she didn't need my help and she would call back later. Oh hells, no!
- Caller: Macy's (I'm assuming)
- Call type: Debt collector
- SCAMMERSIt is not Macy's. My Wife has a Macy's account and they do not call like this. This is definitely a scam so put them on your block lists or just ignore calls.
- Caller: NOT MACY'S
- Call type: Prank
- David replies to johnThe you are a criminal, and a stupid one at that. Who in their right mind is going to buy into that asinine threat. The mere mention of a threat to ones credit is a violation of federal law. If you claim to be a supervisor of these moronic thieves, then you can count on the fact that someone is now looking for you. Don't drop the soap you illiterate.
- David replies to UnknownThat presumes that someone actually owes them something. As many here have already stated, for some there was no outstanding balance, and in other cases not even an active Macy's account. Here's a better idea. Why not have these third party bill collectors, subcontracted to entities from foreign nations with neither the laws nor social skills to which Americans are accustomed, actually know what they're talking about before they call someones home illegitimately demanding payment. That would go a lot further to solving such a quandary than spewing nonsense in defense of inappropriate and in some instances criminal behavior.
- David replies to JOHN SMITHWhat kind of moronic attempt at a con job was that? How about advising the people in question to IMMEDIATELY call Macy's and verify and then pay the debt if it's valid? Why on earth would you believe that it's acceptable advise the public to set up payment arrangements with someone who calls YOU, before verifying who that person really is?

- AmandaSome woman just called looking for my 83 year old mother in law about a Macy's charge card. #1 my MIL doesn't have a Macy's charge and #2 this woman called my desk phone at work. My MIL doesn't know my office number to give it out. She doesn't even know my house # - she calls my husband on his cell phone whenever she needs him. These people are scammers - ignore them at all costs!
- 7275565772Called my work number and asking for my husband. She was with Macy and it's personal matter. Don't know how she associate my work number to my husband's Macy's card. I don't have Macy's card.

- Yes it's a scamFinally decided to pick up just to mess with the scammers. Got the "important business matter" song and dance stating they were looking for my wife. I'm guessing scammers know she has a Macy's card from one of many security breeches. I know it's a scam because my wife used the Macy's account once to get a discount. The balance was paid off and the card never used. Remember, caller ID is easy to spoof. Anyone can make any number pop up. Just because it shows Macy's collections department number does not mean it is actually them. Block the number.
