It's a subscription call for the San Francisco Chronicle. They're about to go out of business so they're telemarketing like crazy right now

I switched phone numbers and now this 18009750791 keeps calling.  I fianlly answered today because I saw it was verizon wireless, but answered, dude.   said hello, hello and hung up.  Has called many times before never leaves a message and I normally don't pick up.  This is kind of scary and bothersome after reading how many people they are calling. Can verizon make it stop?

why would it be a subscription call.  No one is trying to sell me anything, and also why doesn't it register as sf chronicle?  Do you stop getting calls after you answer it?

Keeps calling me throughout the day, wish they would stop as we are on the do not call registry

Received a missed call from this number today on my cell (in San Jose). I would not trust this number, because it is currently illegal for telemarketers to call cell phones. Don't believe that it's SF Chronicle.

I just called them.  It's the San Francisco Chronicle newspaper.

Has called twice so far, once each day. Have not picked up. SF Bay Area number.

Who ever it is calling, SF Chronicle or Tele-marketers, after reading these posts they sound like their motive couldn't be to sell us something because otherwise they would seem to be very unsuccessful (given that many of the calls made they hung up after being answered.)

Just registered onto the "Do Not Call List", hopefully that will stop it.

If SF Chronicle aren't actually the perpetrators but are being linked to the calls, they could possibly be motivated to put effort into stopping the caller, seeing as it is giving them bad rep.

missed the call but im also from California...so this might me state-wide...who knows?

Brand new phone, did not answer. We check 800 Notes in the office before we answer any 800 number. Saves us the time and energy!

i get this on my cell twice this week so far and havent answered any of them and they didnt leave any messages.

a message.  DO NOT PICK UP per previous posts.  Don't know how
they got my cell number, I do not use my cell that much.
Report calls from this number, help everybody avoid SPAM.

They call me and never say anything, what is up with that?

Some one from phone number 1-800-975-0791 keeps dialing my phone number.  I don't appreciate the continuous calling while I am at work.  There is just a number and no other information.

Call is from the SF Chronicle. "John" talked quickly and said, so, what do you say, we get you signed up? I replied that I already subscribe. He was talking again but I hung up saying I do not accept calls of solicitation and to have a good day.

Received 4 calls from this number this week. No messages are ever left. Kinda creeped out after reading all the previous posts.

It's been 3 days straight at around 12:00-1:00PM i've been getting this called from 1-800-975-0791.  Very annoying because i just open a brand new line of service.
