- adawn| 6 repliesI got a charge for 89.31 to my bank account. They are the same company that uses Grant Guide as a name and have another number 866-546-0922. This number was on my account with a charge of 49.50.
- Caller: Grant Guide
- Steph replies to adawn| 1 replyI also received an $89 charge on my debit card, which sent me negative and I got a slew of overdraft fees. I told them I didn't want anything to do with their company after I never got the free trial I was promised, but they still charged me so I'm disputing the charge.
- Rick replies to StephThey have charged my card 89.31 and I have no idea who they are. Where do you go to stop these people.

- LizI do not even know how I became associated with this caller. I do not answer my phone when an Unknown caller/unknown number shows on caller ID. All I know is now I have a $29.95 transaction on my bank statement and am really ticked about it. I have tried calling the number that is stated on my bank transaction and I just listen to elevator music, no one ever answers. Maybe I should hold for more than 11 minutes. The for poops and giggles I googled the phone number and low and behold I found all of you and your experiences. I contacted my bank to dispute the charge. This is crazy! Good luck Everyone!!
- Caller: Unknown Number
- meganWell I didn't even get a call. The charge just showed up on my account. Amt 29.95. This is so stupid.

- Liz| 1 replyAfter speaking with my bank, the end result is I had to close out my account and start fresh. I am not a happy camper.
- smchris| 1 replyGot our "gift" from Debt Eater today for $29.95. No indication at this stage that the card company is going to be a pain, but they do raise the question of how these little darlings get our credit card number. Since they are known phone slammers, I assume our problem was having DSL and an answering machine so they knew they had a live address. But the CC#?
We still do a _lot_ of cash and checks in the real world. We do quite a bit of web purchasing but we run linux and both of us are _very_ hip to phishers, OS/browser updates and the like. Wife's a web designer and I've been a server/db admin with 22 years of home access if you count various dial-ups. So any ideas how they _are_ getting the card number? - Jen| 12 repliesSame here. No call just a charge that showed up on my credit card on 1/16 for $29.95 with the description "Debt Eater 2". Am very upset that I have to deal with this. Hopefully my credit card company will be helpful. I will be sure to mention the fact that many others have been scammed.
- mary replies to Vicki| 9 repliesI also got charged for 29.95........and don't know haw to stop it...can you help
- mary replies to billhow do I stop this.........got a charge of 29.95 on the 18th of Jan 2009
- Lynn replies to smchrisThe same charge of $29.95 showed up on my account after I requested a "free" trial offer (from a different company) and used my debit card for the shipping and handling fees.
Most I can figure is that they have some sort of link in the application form for multiple "free trial" offers, and they're getting our account number and CCV numbers from there.
I also cannot reach anyone at Debt Eaters. My bank cancelled my debit card and I had to put in paperwork to dispute the charge.
Live & Learn!! - Nels replies to Jensame here, 29.95 from 801-222-5269 Debt Eater.
Just better off canceling the card, right?
Hope they get caught soon. - madashell replies to adawnI also got a charge of $29.95 and have no idea who these people are, but it sure causes alot of problems. I called to dispute the charge and so now my card is cancelled and I have to wait 10 days for another one and re-do all of my autodrafts. My debit card is the only thing I usually carry, no I have no use of one until my new one gets here. How in the hell do these people get away with this crap!!!
