I called this number and like many of you traced it back to RealtyTrac.  I was able to get refunded and they closed my account.  I called RealtyTrac to have them erase all of my personal information and account from their database and they said they couldn't do that but did give me this bit of info. When you sign up for their free online trial (7 days) there is a small checkbox that you most likely would never see that automatically signs you up for the Real Estate Promoter service.  By leaving that box checked you are allowing Realtytrac to submit your credit card info to Real Estate Promotor and sign you up for their service.  They assured me the only information they have on file is the last 4 digits of my credit card and they don't sell the info or have the ability to delete my info.  What scammers...beware!

yea its some realitor buisness where they offer a 30 free trial to see listings that they are offering.
they then start a charge of $ 44.95 per month for countinual access to ther listings.
they ar a pain in the [***] and fight you tooth and nail.

I have been trying to get a hold of them all day to reverse the $44.95 charge on my card. But I can't get through.  This is such a scam.  They give you the option to leave a message you know they will not call you back.  So here I sit on hold again for the last 15 minutes.

In my opinion this is affiliated with RealityTracs, which has been the most bogus company that I have ever dealt with.

I looked on my account today and I noticed that I too was charged $44.95.  I was charged $49.95 by Realty Trac even after I canceled the same day I signed up.  It seems to be that the too are linked together.  All  you have to do is sign up with one and you are billed by both wether you wanted the service or not.  THIS IS A SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I was charged over the net. I was not called by them.  However when I called them no one answered, so I left a message for them to call me today!!  We'll see what happens!

I've experienced the same situation as the others: signed up for free 7 day trial with RealtyTrac, canceled within the 7 days, a month later I received a credit card charge of $44.95 from REPromoters. Barclay's Bank, which administers the LLBean credit card that was charged are very unhelpful. In fact, I'll be canceling the card, although I hate to do so, because I like the LLBean benefits. I did get through to 801-705-5325. The rep said that I signed up for their service on March 19 (three days after I canceled RealtyTrac). I denied signing up for any service with them and the rep said he was canceling the service and refunding my money within 5-7 business days. I'll repost when or if I don't receive the refund. This does appear fraudulent, but Barclay's doesn't seem to want to do anything about it.

The same thing has happened to me through RealtyTrac!  I have $129 in charges and two of those were in the same month on the same day.  I have disputed with AMEX 3 times and they keep sending me information that I cannot even read to let me know they will be requiring me to pay.  I even gave them this web address to see it was a scam.  I have used AMEX for years and automatically pay my bill each month meaning it is on time - NEVER LATE!  My bills are always around $2,000 monthly and yet they sided with a SCAMMER.  I am closing my card and will never use AMEX again for anything!  I am determined to do what I have to get my money back from these jerks at real estate promoters.

I got lucky. Used my debit card for "trial membership"--six days ago. Got suspicious when I called to cancel today. I got the same answering machine with "hold music" that keeps you waiting for a couple minutes, then shunts you to an answering machine.

Called back, and got the same "hold music" again--the whole thing is an answering machine recording.

At that point, I Googled "RealtyTrac scam" and came up with this and several other complaint sites. I conclude that they are another shady Utah business whose principals should be followed home and their houses burnt to the ground.

Does anybody really use this "service," or do they do what I did, take a gander at what they have on their 'pay' website and notice all that info is readily available for free, then call to cancel?

If you missed the little check box, fat lot of good your cancellation is gonna do you. They've already emailed your card number to the office down the hall, where they will ding you for more money. You will receive no benefit for that money, but you'll have a hard time getting them to stop taking it from you.

When I found this site and realized the outfit I was dealing with, I resisted the urge to shoot myself, called my bank's fraud department and explained the situation. They cancelled my card and all authorizations to it that have not yet been paid out, and put a new card with a new number in the mail.

Of course, now I'll have to go to the phone company, the electric company, Blockbuster Online, and whomever else I have autopay set up with and change the card number with each of them. But compared to what I'd be going through without this site and all your stories it's nothing.

I also gave them my fake yahoo mail address that I never check. Works like a charm. I never get harassing emails from people, and I don't have to worry about ruining my real email address.

I got the same charge on my account and i never give my permission for this charge. I think it is pretty sad that this company is doing this to people.

I have been on the BBB web site as well. CC Bill.com is not a BBB affiliate and in fact there have been many complaints filed aganst them. The BBB also shows a rating of F for this company, which is the lowest rating they have.

I purchased a 7 day TRIAL for $3.95 with Foreclosure-Repos-Auctions.com. CC Bill.com obviously does billing for many real estate related businesses.

I received a confirmation email acknowledging my subscription cancellation which also included a cancellation ID number. Even though the web site of Foreclosure-Repos-Auctions shows a subscription amount of $39.95, my account was charged the $44.95 many of you have mentioned.

Right now I am about to send them a response to the email I received showing my subscription cancellation, and have also told them I will be contacting the FBI, Federal Trade Commission and the Consummer Protection Agency. These are the people who can actually take legal action against them, where the BBB does not have that option. Filing a complaint with the BBB is a good way to let others, like ourselves, know we are not alone in our experience, but since there are already numberous complaints on file, I personally am not going to devote any of my time with the BBB, but with the Federal agencies who can really nail these guys.

By taking this money from your account without subscribing to what ever company, this act quite simply constitues theft, and is subject to Federal law. This is why, if nothing else, I strongly encourage all of you to report your case to the FBI at the very least. Theft is a VERY serious crime and something the FBI jumps on immediately, especially when they get numerous reports/complaints against any one company. Just google "FBI(your state)" to locate the contact info for your state and submit your complaint to them. I've had to do this with another company and I was amazed at how quickly I received an email reply to my complaint. With any luck, best case scenario, we could get these people behind bars.

One other bit of info, these companies MUST have a state LICENSE to operate their business. In this case, the state of Arizona. If they do not have a license, that is an additional criminal offense.

So check you past emails to see if you received any confirming emails for signing up for anything to do with real estate (these companies always have and automated response thanking you for subscribing with them)and see what documentation you have that can validate your complaint.

I signed up for 7 Days Trial at RealyTrac like most people did here and were charged four times by RealstatePromoter for $44.95 . I was so sure that I canceled RealtyTrac account so I thought I had nothing to worry about and those charges were mistake. But now I know that when I signed up for trial, I was also signed up with Realstate Promoter(this part is really tricky). Their notification e-mail were going to my junk mail and since I wasn't aware of signing up with them, I just noticed four charges from them  I don't think I can get my credit back for that but I think this is a scam and misleading for consumers. We should definitely file complaint for other people not to get in trap like this.

I have also been a victim of this scam.  I joined RealtyTrac on March 20 for a 7-day trial membership.  On March 21 and April 21, RealtyTrac charged my American Express credit card $49.95.  On April 28, "Repromote Orem" charged my card $44.95.  This outfit is actually Real Estate Promoter in Orem, UT.  The first representative with whom I spoke claimed she could not find my name, and asked me for the full American Express account number.  I naturally refused to provide this information, and asked to speak with her supervisor.  I next spoke with "Rebecca," who claimed she could find my name but didn't know why they charged my credit card.  When I said asked whether they are affiliated with RealtyTrac, she claimed not to know that company.  She then said that when I signed up with RealtyTrac (suddenly she know who they were and how their sign-up process works) I authorized Real Estate Promoter to develop a "personal real estate investor" web site.  I denied that and told her I thought they were operating a fraudulent business.  "Rebecca" then sent me a URL that she said was the website they designed for me.  It was actually the web site for a realtor in NJ (I live in CT) who happens to share my name.  "Rebecca" was naive enough to stay on the line while I got American Express to conference in.  Long story short, American Express has written off the charges and told me they will now track this company.  If the company receives a sufficient number of disputed charges, American Express will terminate them as a merchant.  I have also filed a complaint with the FTC and intend to file a complaint with the Utah attorney general.  So if you have a "Repromote Orem" charge on your American Express account, be sure to inquire whether they are tracking this plainly fraudulent enterprise.

I actually talked to them and they were nice, although I was fuming mad about the 44.95 charge.  They said that when I signed up for Realty trac, on the last page or somewhere, there was an option to choose a promotional offer from them.  If I choose Yes, then Realty Trac sends all my info to them!  Including my credit card number!  I never got an email to confirm this or anything.  It's fraud in my book, although there may be some law somewhere that allows it???  Got my money back without calling credit card comany.

Well, I apparently signed up for the free 7 day trial with realtytrac.   I got a letter in the mail confirming my sign up, and also told me I had a certain amount of days to cancel the subscription or I will start being charged the 44.95 a month.  I immedietly called and the woman said no problem, your subscription is canceled and you wont be charged for anything.  Here I am a few weeks later looking at my bank statement and I got charged from this repomo realty company.  I was pissed!  I called them and this boy who sounded like a robot, and who has obviously delt with pissed off people before just kept saying.  Maam like I've repetedly told you, we will not refund your money.  So I said just because one of your employess screwed up and didn't cancel my account like she said she did, Im getting screwed for it?  Maam like I said I will cancel you account because the records show no one ever canceled it, but we will NOT refund your money.  Sure its a petty 50 bucks but dammit who the hell do these people think they are just charging people and basically telling them to screw off when a refund is obviously in order.  I even commented on this website and everyone elses commment, and I asked him is this some kind of scam?  Obviously you have problems with a lot of people and I am SURE action will be taken towards your company.

I am going to file a dispute through my bank.  But ANYTHING else I can do besides just let everyone know about this let me know.  

Its just one more reason to think twice about putting your credit card info online i guess.  Some scheeming company can get your info.

Everyone let me know what I can do, or what else I can say to these people to get my money back.  I told that boy on the phone, even though it is a petty 50 bucks, you had no right charging me because one of your employees screwed up, and I am going to take further action to get that money back.

I will join your legal action against both companies.
I am another victim of this scam.
I was charged $44.95 on my AXP card on 04/28/2009 by Real Estate Promoter.
I called AXP to dispute the charge and it is still under invistagtion without refund yet.
I also asked Real Estate Promoter how they got my credit card information.
A representative (Shelly) did not disclose RealtyTrac at all.
Based on what I read so far from lots of complaints about this scam, it looks like that my credit card information was provided by RealyTrac.
I hate this kind of scam/fraud and we do need to fight.
