While the number itself is T-Mobile's legitimate voicemail number, that doesn't mean T-Mobile is the source of the unsolicited calls.  It's far more likely that someone is using software to spoof their caller ID, thus making your phone or voicemail system believe the call came from T-Mobile.  Such software is easy to find online, and can be used with online calling services.  By using T-Mobile's voicemail number as the caller ID of record, they can redirect the vitriol toward T-Mobile, knowing few people will understand that the caller ID information can be faked.

Whenever I miss calls this number shows every time, according to TMOBILE that is the letting you know to check the voice mail, because this is the phone number to check your voice mail.  You will always receive an alert from voice mail if you miss a call (whether it rang or not).   Usually i will check my call log and there is another number showing from the actual caller or no number will be showing if I was in an area if the signal was bad and the call did not come thru or there is some problem with Tmobile (which seems to be alot of the time lately).   Unfortunately not everyone will leave a voice mail which accounts for the "scary" background noise or talking in the background etc before the phone is hung up.

I have gotten a message from them and i do not have T Mobile, but when i check the message it deducts 6.00 from my account just to listen to nothing. Usual its only .10 cents to listen to my messages, i wonder if they get the money, now that would really piss me off.  Not happy about it at all.

I'll be damned - it sure is the T-Mo voicemail number. Must be a routing error because someone left a few seconds voicemail and I could here background noise - like when someone pocket-dials you by accident.

Here's the deal folks: For some unknown reason (this used to not happen), whenever someone calls you, if they can't reach you and they leave a message for you, the number that shows up on your screen after they leave the message is this number. Therefore, previous posters are correct in that this is T-Mobile's voicemail access number.

I suppose they do this now in order to prompt us to check our voicemail immediately and I think that's where the confusion is coming from. What you really need to look at is the LAST RECORDED NUMBER in your list of missed calls. THIS is the actual number of the person/company who called. In my case, I just had two missed calls that both showed this number, one was from a known source and the other, which I didn't recognize, was from a debt recovery company. So, in essence, THIS IS NOT THE NUMBER OF THE PARTY THAT CALLED. If you want to know who left the message, go into your "missed calls" qeue. You'll find the culprit there. Good luck! :D

Also, be aware folks...many of these calls you are getting may be telemarketing calls or debt collection calls from contracted people working for these collection/recovery companies. Ever seen those "make up to $6,000/mo working from home" ads? Well, guess what the work entails? Somtimes debt collectors hire these people, who usually work from home, and hand them a list of debtors that they must contact every day in an ateempt to collect what's owed. They get paid on comission, which accounts for the many times thay call you in a day. If they don't get you to pay, they don't get paid either.

This is porbably why you hear such crazy things when you call. If you hit your call-back button instead of dialing the 805 number, you are not calling the T-Mobile line but whatever number called you and left the message.

I also got 3 miss-calls from 805-637-7243 and when I called the number back, I got a recording to enter my password. When I entered my password, it played my voicemail messages. I do have T-Mobile too.

I relieve a call from this number fairly regularly but never an answer.  I have attempted to find out who is calling but without success.
