I called this number to ask them to remove me from their database.  The automated prompt asked me to input my Capital One credit card number. Um--No. I said "representative," and the bot replied "I know you would like to speak to a representative, but we need your account number to continue." NO.

After entering a bogus number, I finally got a human. I politely said I was not interested in opening any account, this guy ASKED ME FOR MY SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER.

I said "Good luck with your scam, and hung up."

If you ever get a call from a bank, look onthe back of your card and tell the caller you have located customer service number and will call right back. Ask for an extension, deparent or reference number.

Get calls every day with the same message from "Linda".  Although the messages appear to be from Capital One, I'm 99.99% sure this is a scam.  When you call the number back, they ask for your 16 digit card number and don't give you an option to speak to an operator.

Started calling at 9am ON SUNDAY???? I use to do collections, do they not read collection law? O do they think they are exempt. And this is a paid account as of last week!

If you pick up the phone and don't say anything nothing happens. Dead air, than  a dial tone. After 9pm & Sundays, calls all the time.  STALKER.   If it is capital one, no wonder, when is their class action suit?

They call me and I dont have a card

I DO have a Capital One account and it is past due. Is this number legit, i.e., actually from Capital One? Do I have to call them back?

It's Linda from Capital One.  I don't see why they are able to call on SUNDAYS!

Always call the number on the back of your card and never all any number from a stranger.

This is capital one calling they call my house and my cell number every other hour. It starts at 8:30 am and doesn't stop till 9pm. I can't take this anymore.

I have been receiving calls from this number telling me to call an 866 number to discuss my account. According to what I have read about the 866 phone number it is a scam. Has anyone else been down this road?

I finally answered the call from this number, it was Christmas music, I said hello 3 times and then the call ended.....

Who calls 7 days a week. A scam and unlawful.
This is abuse and harassment. They just called me
on Sat. Dec.24th. Really?! Sat and on Xmas eve!?

Why even post on here if you did not answer the phone?! We look this sight for info on who it was!!!

I received a call from this number...IT IS NOT CAPITAL ONE...I called the number on the back of my capital one credit card and they verified that this is not affliated with them at all.  IT IS A SCAM!!!  They were telling me I owed money and I do not, I paid Capital One off several years ago and the real capital one verified that I have a O balance.!!!

Got a series of phone calls to my cell phone over the last couple of weeks.  It's from a collection agency trying to collect a debt from someone who had my cell phone more than 2 years ago.  I told them to stop calling me and remove my number from all of their call centers.  I went through a similar experience about 6 months ago.  Eventually they stop.  So annoying.

Oh yeah, they first ask for your name and credit card number.  Don't give either.

These "people" had the nerve to call me today Sunday January 8 at 9:01 am. They never say anything on the few times I decided to answer. As for this person named Linda, she leaves messages and tells me to call 1-866-953-7906. But the calls come from 813-202-7244. She says it's regarding Capitol One who I have already explained my situation to. If she looked up the account number in their system, she would see I have already spoken to someone.

I can't begin to think of how many call I get from this number. The last one I got was this morning Monday January 9, 2012 at 8:44 am. The person leaving the voice mail is always named Linda and the number to call is 866-953-7906. I finally decided to call and the first question they asked me was: "Did I have an account with Capitol One"? Mind you this after the person who answered said: "This is Capitol One. How may I help you"? When I said: "You have the information in front of you" several times, he then asked for my phone number and account number. I told him again: "You have the information". I also told him I had already talked with Capitol One and they were aware of my situation. Yes, I did get a little rowdy and cussed; but I told him if they call again they will be hearing from my lawyer! I'm beginning to think this is a scam company! I just wonder how they got my information to ask me if I had a Capitol One account.
