- KimReceived a call from my mother who lives 3 hours away. She got a call from this phone number telling them that it was about an important legal matter and a complaint against *my name*. This is the SECOND time they called HER about ME. Our last names are not the same, she's never cosigned for me...how the heck do they find our extended families? I haven't owned ANY credit cards in nearly 10-12 years!
How do you report to the FTC? I want to do whatever it takes to stop these creeps.- Caller: didn't say

- busymommy replies to PHX---I got the exact same script, except the "special investigator" was named "Simone Harris" and the call was for some person that I've never heard of:
This message is for *someone I've never heard of*. This is Simone Harris-Special Investigator. I am contacting you regarding a complaint being filed against you. You affidavit number is MDS****. You have been named to respond in a court action and must appear in court. There is a contact number on file which you must call. 813-863-1961. Please forward this information on to your attorney affidavit pertains to a restraining order. You or your attorney have 24-48 hours to resolve this matter. Again the affidavit number is MDS****. This is a legal matter so please contact me. Thank you and good luck
It is definitely a scam, since you must be served in person and not over the phone, plus I am not who they are looking for. The number on my caller ID was 213-985-1942. Another red flag, since the call back number was in Florida while the caller ID said Los Angeles. Do not answer them and do not give them any personal information. - fonztheses people contacted my son ,saying they need to serve my husband .....
- Caller: central legal network
- wrosI got exactly the same thing as everyone else, except the call was left on our voicemail on a business line for someone that I don't even know. The lady said her name was Shana and she was a private investigator blah blah blah, it isn't worth my time to type the rest....scammers are the scum of the earth.
- wicked oneI got the same message here. I told them to come after me and hung up.

- Mr CFunny I had a looser by the name of Anthony West leave a message at a relative’s house, stated he was a “Special Investigator”. Special Investigator “Adam” LOL also made mention of legal action being taken against me and something about a restraining order.
If I ever get a call from Florida, 9 times out of 10 its some type of scam or fraud. Here is how I look at it. This Anthony West or Anthony Wilson in my opinion is stating he is a “Special Agent” and since he is referring to a retraining order he must therefore be presenting himself as and officer of the court or a police officer. Do what I did! I contacted my local police department and advised them of the allegation I had a restraining order and “Anthony West” was impersonating an officer. My local police department was more than interested in the call so I sent them a copy of the voice mail message as well. I did not stop there I followed that by reporting the call to both my states Attorney General’s Office as well as the State of Florida’s Attorney General’s Office and the Federal Trade Commission. I would urge anyone who gets a call from this looser or any looser that works for Central Legal Network to do the same. Central Legal Network is obviously unaware or just does not care about the FAIR DEBT COLLECTIONS ACT. Make sure to catch them on recording in case you need to forward it on to interested parties. Let’s take them down!- Caller: 813-863-1961

- LivergirlI just checked my voicemails and I heard a man state he was DEPUTY West, and that a restraining order had been filed against my husband by someone, gave a "case" number, said the 24-48 hour contact thing, have him or an attorney call back, and at the end of the conversation said, "Good luck"!!!! Now, I live across the bay from Tampa, Fl. so I recognized the 813 prefix right away. I first thought, what the heck did my husband do, let me look up the Hillsborough County Sheriffs office. It wasn't their number. Then, I thought it odd that the 1961 was at the end of the #, ( that's my husband's birth year) thinking they have dedicated phone #'s based on birth year. Then, I googled the # and found this site. In no way did the guy say "Central Legal Network". He totally represented himself as a Deputy Sheriff. That HAS to be illegal.
I will be calling the real Sheriff's office tomorrow to report them.- Caller: didn't say

- Jo| 2 repliesGo the message on my answering machine for my daughter. Number came in from Private Caller (I never answer these calls and almost all don't leave messages). Same thing about someone filing a complaint against her and something about a restraining order and appearing in court. Her name was Special Investigtor Candice Mitchell. She left an Affidavit number and said she needed to respond within 24 - 48 hours and to give this info to her attorney if she had one. She ended the call with 'Thank you and good luck". That's what tipped me off. Plus the fact that she left all that information without knowing if she even had the correct number. I work as a supervisor of security services and used to work in Customer Service. No one with a title of "Special Investigator' would end a call in that manner. I am so glad I googled this number. Now do I tell my daugher, a mother of a 10 year old girl and twins (boy and girl) who just turned one? I think not, she has enough on her hands now. Think I'll call back for her.

- From Pennyslvania replies to Jo| 1 replyMy friend received a startling call a couple days ago from a "Investigator Kim Lee" who threatened her with fraud charges if she didn't make payment for an Orchard bank loan. They claimed they had been trying to serve her at an old address. My friend has had an orchard bank credit card but never a bank loan from this company. The threats made me suspicious because they did not seem to be in line with the Fair Debt Collections Act. I decided to call this company myself and asked them for their physical address they questioned why I wanted it and would not give it to me. I than asked for the person's name. They would not give it to me. I asked for a supervisor they would not let me talk to one. I asked for the supervisor's name and again was questioned as to why. I plainly said it is in regards to your threats of restraining orders and pressing fraud charges and she replied "yes" to that confirming that they do do that (I was pretty amazed at that, that they had no problem admitting they are doing that to people), she than proceeded to tell me "my supervisor will not give you our address either". I told her I will be filling a complaint with the A.G.'s office she said "do what you want" and hung up. My friend also tried calling them back and they would not give her a physical address either and were very nasty with her continuing to demand payment for a "Loan". They also refused to give her validation of the debt in writing and said "we don't do that". I have called the Florida A.G.'s office about this. Something needs to be done about these people they are breaking so many laws in their actions, harassment, misrepresenting themselves as officers to give the impression they are law enforcement, the scare tactics are so over the top, not to mention despite all of that.. they refuse to validate debt even if it were legitimate. Please, if you get a call from these people report them to your State's Attorney General's office.
- From Pennsylvania replies to From PennyslvaniaI forgot to mention that their message when you call in to 813-863-1961 states they are Central Legal Services and the area code is Tampa Florida, though from what I read I am not 100% certain they are located in Tampa
- JosephReceived a call this morning, four days before Christmas, from Central Legal Services. They said that they had made several attempts to subpoena me and had failed to get in touch with me for a financial counseling service which I owed $4,000 dollars on. It was in 2005. I was homeless in 2005. I am a disabled Vietnam veteran and live on a military disability pension and this is a cruel, cruel trick to commit on a person who put it all on the line for this country. If the U.S. Government doesn't do something about this, I will.

- DonnaI rec'd this same message only about my adult totally disabled son. I told them I was his mother not his secretary and I wouldn't be talking to him. They wanted his personal information which I did not give and then proceeded to tell me about the law suit and restraining order with the details---case # etc. He owes no one, has been totally disabled for the last 4 yrs.--and he rec'd the same call immediately after which they left a complete voice mail. I am sure the information being derogatory was in violation of the Federal Disclosure Laws no matter what state you live in!!

- KingI got the same call today but it showed unknown on the caller ID so I sent it to voice mail...I got the voice mail message and proceeded to return the call...Waited on the line for 20 minutes with no answer...I will follow-up again and return to post my findings. Not sure if the call came from the number 813.863.1961 but that is the number that Special Investigator Candice Mitchel left on my voice mail.
Given the title of "Special Investigator", I assume this is a scam and I am going to find out.- Caller: Central Legal Network

Immediately got suspicious since we live in ILLINOIS and had never heard that prefix. Definitely gonna be calling the police on this one.
- Michael| 1 replyAfter visiting this site - I found this was a debt collector using scare tactics. I use Google Voice - so here's an identical transcript - with my private information taken out:
Hi, I'm trying to get in contact with Michael *******. This is Ashley wise special investigator, I'm contacting you in regards to a complaint filed against you.You have been named as the defendent there. There is a contact number you must call. It's (813) 863-1961. Please forward this information to your attorney this also contains a restraining order against you. You or your attorney will have 24 = 48 hours to respond to this message. Thank you.
...this is really messed up - the voicemail is saved as I use Google Voice - and I will be forwarding it to the proper authorities.
This legitimately scared me; and is really wrong. I have debts...and no way to pay them; that's my mistake - but life doesn't always work out the way you want it to. (Got ill, on disability now - at a young age (under 30) )
Everyone should turn these messages in - and get these people to change the way they're going about this....- Caller: Don't Know - They Didn't Say!

- Dave replies to MichaelWord for word as the message right from Mihal. Get this: they are looking for my 27 year-old step-daughter who never lived with me. Not only that, her mom and I split up 9 months ago. I live 460 miles north of anywhere I knew them. New phone number and all.
My first clue that this was a Collections Agency using scare tactics: The goon leaving the message didn't have basic phonetic reading skills. Minimum wage monkey making phone calls.
My step-daughter's name is Nicolette and the woman leaving the message stumbled slowly through it pronouncing syllables: "No-ke-lettuh" (!????!). She really hosed her last name, too. What a moron.
What they are doing is illegal, and it proves that many, many people in America will sell their souls to the devil for a buck. Anyone who can take home a paycheck earned by harassing people via lies and deception already has one foot in Hell.
