I think the best way to deal with people like this is to give them exactly what they want, phone numbers. How about like the Attorney General of your state, or perhaps the F.B.I. consumer fraud division, then instead of any of us having to report them to these agencies, they can call them themselves, kind of takes out the middle man.

When people like this call, and ask for me, I say just one minute please, I will get him for you, then I set the phone down, and come back in about 10 or 15 minutes, most of the time the person has hung up by then, but once in awhile they are still on the line, so I say, "he will be right here, he is in taking a dump, but I am pretty sure he is almost done, I heard the toilet flush, so he will be out in a minute". Then I set the phone down again, and after about 5 minutes, they finally figure out they have been fooled, lol.

Hey, 37 pages...I don't even want my phone to ring with calls like this...I don't need to do anything just because someone unknown to me calls me, unsolicited, when they shouldn't...I do not need to block numbers, configure caller ID, put up with non-stop [***] call ringings, or anything else...I do not need to take my phone off the hook, stifling calls to me that I actually may want to receive on a phone line that I pay for each and every month.

Maybe someone should come over to your home each and every day and lean on the doorbell.  You don't want to let 'em in, so you just won't open the door.  And they still come and lean on the doorbell, ring, ring, ring.  Be smug about that, why don't you.

Here's a hint:  Take things into your own hands, like I do.  Get it?!  Whaaaa to you, too.  AH.

I don't answer callers I don't know, especially at 8:15 am when I'm rushing out the door. Of course I have time to waste with garbage calls. No message left. I'm on the DNC and this is the second and last call. I just blocked them. call originated from Tampa, FL.

Additional Complaint Information

BBB has received a pattern of complaints alleging that the business repeatedly is telemarketing consumers, regardless of whether the consumers are registered to the National Do Not Call Registry or have asked the business to stop calling.

On December 3, 2012, BBB contacted L & J Bay Area Holdings, Inc., requesting information as to why the business believes the customers are filing the complaints, and what actions the business has taken to help eliminate the causes of complaints. As of this date the business has not replied to this request.

I don't answer out of area calls anymore!  I figure if it is legit the will leave a message. Thank god for caller Id.  I just don't answer any of them...

Sigining up for the federal Do Not Call List doesn't cost anything.  It might not be as effective as everyone had hoped, but the government isn't trying to fleece you, you nitwit.

I get calls from this number bout 2-3 times a week?

They change phone numbers but I always block their calls.

Folks - get real!  Spend 60$ and buy a call blocking phone.  Panasonic and Uniden both make wonderful call-blocking phones.  These phones also come with at least one wireless handset.

These guys are very clever.  If you answer the phone they know 1) it's an active number, and 2) someone is home.  They immediately broadcast that info to their network of telemarketer clients and within 20 minutes you will get one or more telemarketer calls.  All they do is sell these services to telemarketing companies.  The only way to deal with this is not to answer the call.  DNC has had no affect on these guys for 3 years because "they don't directly telemarket".

813-899-1569 just called and did not leave a message. I called the number back and it was a marketing company. A recorded message asked me to enter my phone number to their "Do not call list" and I did. I guess we will see if it works or not.

What the guys is saying is that whether or not you've signed up on the DNC registry... some of these things that people fill out online have it written somewhere in the fine print that you authorize them or any of their affiliates to call your phone (such as signing up to win a gift card - as the example he used).... If you AUTHORIZED someone to call your phone (knowingly or unknowingly) than the DNC registry is useless.

Oh... and what the other guy was saying.... no you don't have to pay SPECIFICALLY for the DNC registry... but you DO have to pay taxes to the GOV'T who just happens to be the people behind the DNC......... this is one of those things they are trying to do to look like they're actually WORKING for those tax dollars!

i called them back at 813-988-5941 and got my # removed from their call list.   I am on the national DO NOT CALL list but it doesn't matter with these people.  Do yourself a favor and harass them by calling
