The guy was rude and didn't like the fact I didn't know anything about the case.

I got a call today from this number, it's from a company that sent us alledged printer cartridges, they have no signature from Fedex?  That's odd, Fedex won't leave pkgs without one...and he was all big and billy bad ass...we'll be reporting you to credit...whatever...It sounds like it's a collection agency with scare tactics.  I've dealt with his type before...not to worry anyone...

I too received a call from this number stated he worked with Crane & Weiner legal department.  Someone had downlowned music off limewire and so they are trying to send me to court.  They request my financial papers I explained I'm a student.  He was very rude and then hung up and stated he would be sending these papers to court.

I received a call on my work voicemail from a Jose who said he was with Caine-Weiner and representing some Insurance Co. Couldn't catch the name of the Insurance Co because he talked pretty fast and angry by the way. He said that my husband owes almost $900. From what I have no idea! What I find strange is that nothing has been mailed to us and only a few vendor's have my work phone. Why didn't he call my husband at his work or call our cell phones. I'm in the military so it's probably not a good idea that he call my work line. After all if he can't provide a legitimate document (which I seriously doubt he has one to provide) it is basically harassment.

I've dealt with something like this before. It's probably one of those Collection Agency that buys old debts usually a debt that you already settled with the actual vendor. They always threaten and sometimes they even try to make deals with you and say they'll settle it if you at least pay half. If it sounds shady it probably is!

Just got a message myself they were very rude to the person in my office. I left a message in return. I plan to be just as ignorant when they call back. Keep you posted.

Weiner Caine called our place of business today looking for Nadine Smith.  I informed her there was no one here by that name.  Maybe they had a wrong number.  If they call back I will just hand the phone over to my 'WEINER DOG'.

I received a call from this very rude and unprofessional collector named Vanessa Ellis who called me a "liar" and "idiot" straight out, when I informed her the business she was calling closed over one year ago.  She is collecting an old invoice from Pitney Bowes and further said she would harrass all my family and friends to get me to pay this debt!  She knows that it is illegal to do that and it is uncollectable because it was a company debt and not personal.  What a [***]!

I received a call from a guy named Jerome Cole (I think). He said to call him back at 818-251-1762 ext 219.  I called back and left him a message.....let's see if he returns my call.

I received a call from 818-347-2700 two days ago and they didn't leave a message. The same number called again today and left a message saying it was Mike Garcia calling for Tim and to call him back at 818-251-1765 ext.219 about a case I have. I don't have any cases because I don't owe any money or have much of anything even in my name. He didn't mention anything about Caine Wiener though.

We reported them to the FTC and we faxed a letter to Crane & Weiner, because "Vanessa Ellis" called our company at least 50 times, being as demanding and RUDE as she could be.  Unbelievable.  Then it was a woman who called herself "Melissa Butter".  This is the worst company to have call you, completely unprofessional, they are breaking the law.  Please report them to the FTC.  They say they are a "legal firm".

This company is Caine and Weiner, they are a lawfirm. I called them after I recd an attorneys letter stating they were going to sue my mom.
I spoke with a Matt and he helped me fully. He even waived the legal fees that had accrued while in collections. I asked why this was going into litigation and he said that Caine and Weiner is the last step after your debt has been placed in diff collection agencies. I looked them up under the commercial law leauge of america and sure enough there they are. Dont ve fooled by these other posts. If you recd a call or a attorneys letter call them asap, you will be sued. Im lucky I saved my mom when I did bc if we ignored the letter she would have paid all late fees and legal fees, instead matt helped me settle the debt for a cheaper cost. I hope this helps. =)

vanessa ellis is calling and harassing my family and people that live around us! she says that she will call our clients we know and tell them we are scum and not to do business with us. please help, caine and weiner is scaring all employees

The collection agency is Caine & Weiner, Woodland Hills, CA 91365. In May 2009, one of their clients is the Los Angeles Times.

I got a call too.  Glad for this website to tell me who it was!  I saw the journalist undercover program on TV last month about these types of "boiler room" collection agencies, set up in a room somewhere lying through their teeth.

Well at least she has a job. I sort of fell sorry for her.
I am glad I found this post, I have alot of collection agency on me. I just
waiting till they all get together and I will file the big B. My credit is so bad but, I almost lost my eye and so with a few surgeries (no health insurance) I am just so glad to be around. Stay positive America! This too will pass.

People, know your rights!  Just tell them to cease and desist all further collection activity (letters and calls).  Follow it up in writing and the FDCPA (Fair Dept Collection Practices Act) has your back.  They can no longer contact you about the debt.  There are other things you can do -- just google FDCPA and understand your rights.  Good luck.
