- JacesMamaI recieved a call fromTanya Walker this morning stating she was a private investigator & that I needed to call 832-390-2131 with a case number because I was being sued but she could not give me any detailed information about the case. So I called the number & some arrogant man answered the phone. I gave him the case number & he immediately gave me all my info i.e.; name, grandmothers address (but not mine that I lived at for 1 1/2yrs until I moved back to my grandmothers a month ago), & disturbingly the last four digits of my SS#. He informed me that I was being sued by Cash America Advance for a Breach oi Contract & Fraud and that all my financial assests would be frozen. However, I have never had a loan with Cash Advance. I had inquired about one about 8-10 months ago but never followed thru with the loan process. This is the first time I have been contacted by someone who wasnt in a foreign country. I have in the past been contacted by some foreign guys stating the same thing & telling me that I had a warrant out for my arrest & would be arrested within 48hrs (which never happened)...I think these people should be stopped I filed a complaint with FCT.

- Patrick| 1 replyI called the FBI and its a scam. Here is what you can do. Note the address stated above as:
Blalock Office Park II Suite 311
1220 Blalock Road, Houston, TX 77055
I verified this by calling their neighbor in suite 300. Go to ic3.gov and file a complaint. Go to ftc.gov and file a complaint. If you feel your SSN has been compromised go to ssa.gov and fill out a fraud alert. Then go to experian.com or transunion.com or equifax.com and get a free credit report BUT only from one of them, and about every fours months pick one of the other two, this way you do not pay for credit reports. You are entitled to one free report per year from all three. The trick is to go directly to the websites and cancel before charges are incurred, then go to the other two throughout the year.
You can also place a fraud alert with all three reporting agencies by going here http://www.fightidentitytheft.com/fraud_numbers.html
I hope this was helpful =)- Call type: Debt collector

- Mike the MooseGot a message from 832.390.2131 - Special Investigator Arnold Taylor. Also called my 84 year old father, who got pretty nervous about it.
I am a bill collector for over twenty years, and have never used lies or innuendo to attract a debtor's attention. There are more effective ways to collect bad debts. After twenty years, I should know.
I will not only contact the attorneys general of my state and of Texas, but I also intend to contact our local news reporters, who will jump on this like a duck on a junebug.
The collection industry is important, especially for our clients. Many cannot bear the loss of receivables, and many have been forced into bankruptcy or out of business due to their inability to recover these losses.
Jackwads like this have given the industry a black eye for years. I am sure I can bring this organization to the table, and likely to their knees.
P.S. - I owe no debts that are not being serviced properly through negotiation and payments. I am eager to knock this one oout of the park. They have contacted the wrong man.- Caller: Transcontinental Process Services

- JohnJUST received a call at a number I have had for 3 months, about a person in our family that doesn't live in this household, never has, and never will. I told them to please remove my number from the list since the person didn't live in my house and they let me know that they would call me every day till I confessed to what I have done wrong. To which I let them have it as well. They told me the family member in question owed a bunch of money to a lender and he was being sued. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was directed to call 832-390-2131. I was quickly "removed" from their database, which I'm sure will be called again very soon, and then when I asked the lady to please confirm her name, title, and company worked for she hung up on me.

- JonesGot a call saying that I was going tobe arrested if I didn't call about this matter. Gave me a case number #GHT 1651 so I called and they were looking for some one else with the same name. it was jacked up and I don't think they should be able to do this sort of thing. Talking about I should get a lawyer and get in touch with them or go to jail. I'm all for a law suite for this stuff.

- KC replies to JuneThe did the same thing to me. They also called my grandmother and left a msg on her machine and it scared her to death. Needless to say I got scared and set up payments on a prepaid debit card and I was supposed to get something in writing concerning the claim and the agreement. Well this was 15 days ago and have not received anything. Needless to say you may fool me once (I agree I must be a dumb a** to ever think they had a case but I did not want them to call other family members I just wanted it to stop) I need an address for this company and who I should contact (authorities) to get this stopped! Please help!
- RobinI received a called from this number for my mother. She stated that she was an investigator and someone had filed a complaint. My mother is 70 years-old, so I immediately wrote down the information she provided. Because I am a loan processor I goggled this company. I called back to inform them that if they call my home again I will file complaint with FTC and the Attorney General Office. She hung up on me. I called back and was promised that no one would disturb me again. My best advice is to reverse the tables and call them back threaten them and let them see how it feels.

- Petra Kasin replies to Petra KashinBEWARE! They even called my mother on the west coast (I"m on the east coast) and she thought it may be another debt she knew I had and gave them her credit card to pay half of 'my debt'. Thank god we talked and I told her no way, it is a scam. She immediately called her credit card company and they were taking the steps to report fraud and cancel the transaction.
I was getting calls from some 'law' firm with a foreigner sounding like a robot also claiming I'm being sued or something. I finally told them I know they are scammers and to never call me again or I'm reporting them. I haven't gotten a call from them since.
They get our info from things we apply for online....lesson learned: ONLY submit your info to entities you absolutely know are legit. Otherwise, DO NOT! Good luck! - KEN G. replies to JuneI am a 30year Vet in the Credit Industry. I know well the FDCPA Fair Debt Collection Act. If this was for a Commercial Debt the FDCPA would not apply. I will help with this, show me some interest people.
