- j7025071 replies to WendyI am talking to an attorney about a law suit now.
- j7025071 replies to ME| 1 replyI was called on Friday 10/28 at work. Ms. Jones stated that I owed $4369. I told her she could contact my attorney. She told me that it was beyond that and she would not talk to my attorney. She also told me I had until Monday to pay $600. On 10/29 I spoke with them again, this time to Ms. Chrystal who identified herself as the head of the legal dept. She told me that I had written a hot check to her client and closed the account. This is not true. I never wrote a check I just stopped authorization because I believe they have received their money. They also told me they had been trying to get in touch with me and the 28th was the first I heard of that. She told me I needed to give them $600 via debit card or western union or money gram. I said I could not do that and would not give them access to my account. She told me they were bringing me up on check fraud and I was going to face 15 yrs in prison. She then said you need to get a criminal defense attorney. At this point she said that if I paid $600 that this would put me in an amnesty program that their company has with Bern. County. I then told her again I could not do that. She told me that attorney Stein wanted to speak with me. I asked for his/her first name and she got angry and said I do not have to give that info. I then asked for their address and she said why do you need that? I responded and said so I can inform my criminal defense attorney. She then said if you are getting a criminal defense attorney this conversation is over. I then responded by reminding her that she had told me to do that. She then said why would we give that info so your attorney has an unfair advantage. She then said I am going to work with you. Talk to Ms. Jones and I will sign off on any deal. I was then transferred to Ms. Jones. I asked her if she could please tell me attorney Steins first name and their address. She said just one moment and put me on hold. Two other people came on and I told them I was on hold for Ms. Jones. Then Ms. Chrystal came on and began yelling stating that she had already told me she was not going to give me the name or address and that if they did not have $600 by Monday 9am it was going to my DA. She then screamed that she was going to look for other outstanding bad checks and have me thrown in jail. She then hung up the phone. They again called 10/31 and left a message stating as per my conversation with them on Friday and Saturday we were to have a conference call during my lunch hr, whatever. I assumed because I did not submit my payment I was going to jail for 15 yrs.
I am currently talking to the TX AG and NM AG and several attorneys regarding this. - j7025071 replies to UnknownReal or not they have laws and rules to follow. KNOW YOUR RIGHTS!!!!!
- HARRIET replies to Mr Dave R.Goldman Schwartz is NOT a real company. They are a complete scam who have somehow stolen old records from cash advance stores. The debts they claim are still due, are NOT and either paid or past the statue of limitations. Their website is fake and not tied to a real collection agency. The address given for their office in Houston goes to a UPS Store. The main phone number is a cell phone. They have no land line phone. There are approx 5 of them-both male and females working as a tag team on the phone to threaten and intimidate people into sending them money. They are NOT legitimate and are going to be hard to prosecute because there real location is hard to know beyond that of the Houston area. If they were a legitimate collections company, then they would have been shut down by now because of their illegal tactics used on the phone. This info I am providing is true and came from an investigator after I was almost scammed by them too. Little did these idiots know, My husband works in law enforcement and began an investigation. If we lived closer to Texas, he might have even been able to track them down! Don't pay them ONE RED CENT! They are a complete SCAM!
- HARRIET replies to UnknownNice try scammer! We know they are not real and are certainly not nice! They are completely rude and want to intimidate people into sending them money. There is NOT a real collections company named Goldman Schwartz.
- MarieThese jerks are so typical. A friend recieved a call from this number today. First they threatened jail. Then they said they put a lien on their car. I knew it was a scam, so before my dear friends actually PAID these morons, I googled the number and showed them this page. Please people, remember this, if someone calls out of the blue and claims you owe money, MAKE THEM PROVE IT! Make them show signatures or a transaction history which, of course, they can't do because they are scamming idiots who will burn in hell.

I told them that i would get back to them as soon as i can figure something out (this is when i thought the 850$ was legit) so this morn, matter fact just right now i just got off the phone with Advance America they say that they don't do bizness with nothing or noone by the name of Goldman and Schwartz and that i do have an outstanding debt but it had been fwd to a collection agency with a totally diff name so they gave me the name and number to were i could call and get this matter resolved. - Rob replies to dkSee http://www.creditinfocenter.com/rebuild/statuteLimitations.shtml
A bunch of bottom feeders who are trying to collect debts that are either bogus in their entirety, or past the statute of limitations.
My personally, I'd rather clean out horse stalls and do this for a living, but then again, desperate losers need to resort to desperate mesaures. - Rob replies to mcMail fraud, that's why they don't want you mailing things to them. And then, of course, you'd be able to let everyone know where they actually are. No reputable law firm or legit collection agency hides their location.
- Rob replies to Curt| 1 replyRight off the bat, red flag. As soon as they start threatening you, hang up. Thjis is a bunch of bottom feeding sleazebags trying to collect debts that are past the statute of limitations.
See http://www.creditinfocenter.com/rebuild/statuteLimitations.shtml
Practice saying "you have the wrong number, there is no one here by that name" and hang up on them. Better yet, get a metal whistle; as soon as they start talking, blow 'em a good one. - Rob replies to NOT IN DEBTFollow the laws, and you won't have to lie, cheat and steal from people. Too bad you've just validated all the posts. Not very smart, but what do you expect from a sleazebag running an extortion scheme. Cut into your income, buddy?

- mad a&# heckThey just called again and i called them back..spoke once again with a "Alvin Reeder" he is trying to make me pay at least a portion of the amt that they claim i owe. So i told him if i owe you prove it send me something, he said they are a "paperless company" which is BS, no way on earth can you tell a person that they owe you w/o proving to them why or what for, these ppl are rediculous. i did my homework really well i started with the people that they claim i owed the debt to, even they said it's a scam and they do no bizness with this company. then i called secretary of state in Houston to see if they are legit (company name comes up) but they are not bonded (which you have to be in order to act as a 3rd party debt colletor). Lastly since they claim to be an attorney's office i asked for the state bar exam number (he could not provide that) he told me he is in investigations and he can't be giving away the attorney's info which is another damn RED FLAG cause if this debt is true and binding he should be doing everything and anything in his power to prove to me that this is for real..i must say these ppl are very GOOD at what they do and i feel so bad for the ones that they actually do dupe into believing their lies..i also agree w/ sr i am worried as hell how they got my personal info. i now have flagged transunion, experian and equifax!!

- Gene replies to disputed| 1 replyI was contacted by a Goldman Schwartz representative and threatened with arrest if I did not immediately fork over cash to pay off a debt I supposedly owe from 10 years ago with a payday loan company. The woman on the phone was very hostile and overly aggressive. Especially when her threats failed to unhinge me. I asked for her supervisor and was refused. I asked for her company's information (address, e-mail, anything really) and again was refused. I tracked down Goldman Schwartz online and then called my local District Attorney who told me that these people are nothing more than typical collection agents. Not to be the least bit intimidated by them. In fact, my D.A. mailed me a packet of materials including info about the Fair Trade Commission and how to report these windbags for threatening arrests or jail time (which is ILLEGAL). So you've been exposed GS. You're just another collection agency with zero bite behind all that barking.
