- FerdinandJust called Wells Fargo using the number in their official website. I was able to talk to a representative who confirmed 844-213-7850 is the number of their collection agency. Said if you will receive calls from this number if you are past due even if it is within the grace period. However, she cannot say why the number is unknown and why they will not leave a message. Very bad marketing strategy as it does not make any distinction between the good borrowers who simply pays within the grace period as that is convenient to them and those that are really behind.
- Caller: Wells Fargo - Collection
- aggravated1 replies to Household6got a call also, 62017
- Carole AlexanderThey call several times every day.
- mimi| 1 replyWhat is the point of reporting this number when no one go after them. We should have the right to know where this call is coming from so we can stop harrasments. Sick of it.

- Tygerkat replies to mimiWho are you reporting this number to? Because if it's just here, on a phone number lookup site, then that's why no one is going after them. This is simply a website to help identify unknown phone numbers.
And if you're actually reporting to the proper agencies, remember results take time. The callers have to be tracked down first of all and if they're spoofing the number that makes it difficult, if not impossible.
Block the number and move on. - Krissywells fargo mortgage. only 1 mo behind. constantly call all hrs day & evening
- Torrington'sReceived call no message didn't pick
- Caller ID HunterThey keep calling at the main number of a place of business....this is not your customer's phone number. Most often when they call there is no one on the line, a robo call. I have called and asked for the number to be removed and they just keep calling. Wells Fargo has got to be the most screwed up financial institution there is. It seems like every day there is more bad news in the paper about how this company conducts business. One class action after another. Amazing that they are still in business. They won't be for long.

- DB replies to X______________| 3 repliesUnfortunately, LEGAL, often as they want! BUT, can ONLY leave a MSG 1x though.. (Previous Collections Rep Experience)
- Well.. replies to DB| 1 reply..this is what the CFPB says:
Is there a limit to how many times a debt collector can call me?
Answer: Federal law doesn’t give a specific limit on the number of calls a debt collector can place to you. A debt collector may not call you repeatedly or continuously intending to annoy, abuse, or harass you or others who share the number.
You do have a right to tell the debt collector to stop calling you. - BigA replies to DBWell looks like you failed to stay awake in training class. They can not only call as many times as they want, but they can leave as many messages as they want. You see, since Wells Fargo is a creditor and not a third party debt collector they are not covered under the FDCPA, and only regulated in 5 states.
- BigA replies to Well..As I said before, creditors such as Wells Fargo are not regulated by the FDCPA which only covers 3rd party debt collectors. Further, harassment would be determined by a judge in a lawsuit. While you do have the right to send a cease comm letter to a debt collector, sending one to the creditor could have adverse effects, such as causing them to sue you, repossessing your vehicle, etc.
