caller ID is "unavailable", message left on 6/2/2015 at 14:51EDT to an evoice.com number which allows their evidence to be collected and emailed

this is their 5th or 6th different number for ACA advised to call them back on, however, these people will sooner drop dead now that I know first hand from law enforcement:

THEY'RE 100% FRAUD. The message is not for anyone's name but the message is verbatim as follows:

This is ACA. Please contact our office regarding your account at 844-246-8944 between the hours of 8am  to 5pm EST. This matter is very time sensitive and requires your immediate attention. Once again our number is 844-246-8944. thank you

but the stupid part  is they're calling a number for which messages are forwarded automatically to same law enforcement which advised the calls are fraud.

how the scam works: they randomly dial a number. when you phone back or answer, the number answered or called from is then looked up via some slick "phone search tool", then the scare tactics begin. if you never phone them back that would be best option. if they call you at your job, advise your employer and immediately notify police. they'll be so afraid to phone number again, however, they're quite stupid as there's no system to allow them to remove any numbers. only arrest of individuals or part of their group stops the calls.

the reason I have a direct law enforcement contact: I've been called since 2008 with threats, including threats of arrest if I don't pay over the phone. yet i have NEVER received one piece of documentation ever. they don't know that they're calling same numbers repeatedly because a system from overseas or Caribbean makes the outbound call, when someone answers, calls is then routed to some idiot at a location in US, most often Las Vegas, who begins the scam process. if person is dumb enough to pay them over the phone, the payment goes to some place like a barber shop, auto shop, etc., which makes zero sense to me, but I guess they have a way to collect the cash via that source for the credit card payment. they were given a bogus credit card number which allowed their transaction to be traced to a barber shop.

the calls then stopped for about a year, but are now picking up again, but again, they're simply leaving messages that are auto-fowarded to law enforcement. it just never ends!!!

but they're 100% criminals, there's nothing legitimate about this call so simply ignore it and don't verify ANYTHING over the phone.

Don't agree to pay anything, until they mail you a legal document or summons you. Ask for a credit card account number and Bank that the debt was with.
Old debt can expire and collection agencies can only collect within a time frame, after a while and some companies buy list of consumers that the amounts are on the border to expiring and try to collect on them.
From my past experience I paid off an old Home Depot credit card twice because they pressure me on the phone and I did not check my records.
I also got a call from 8442468944 and the guy left the same message.

Got a call from this number 844-246-8944 and left a message stating his name was Kenneth Mitchell and I needed to return his call as it was iimportant. No clue as to who he was or who he worked for but I am debt free, therefore, I owe nothing.

You are receiving calls from what is referred to as a Zombie Debt / Dead Debt / Non-Existent Debt Collector. They purchase a database of consumer information. This database's consumer information is collected so if you have;
- applied for an online loan (regardless if you received one)
- applied for a payday loan (regardless if you received one)
- applied for a title loan (regardless if you received one)
- applied for debt consolidation online (regardless if you went through with it)
- paid off any or all of the above.
- a company you were doing business with (insurance, credit, etc.) had their database hacked into.
If so there's an awful strong possibility your name is in the database that the Zombie Debt Collector currently has in their possession and are going down the list using any info they have to sound legit.

It does not matter if you tell these callers that you;
- never took out a loan.
- paid the loans off and have proof.
- filed and or received a partial or full bankruptcy discharge.
They will ask for more info (your social security number, date of birth, mother's maiden name, etc.), anything that will assist with adding to the database and sell it. They will ask for proof. They might even tell you that the money supposedly owed can not be covered under any US Bankruptcy laws / court decision. (FALSE)

Always remember..
- Legitimate companies DO NOT hesitate to state their company name immediately when calling, whether it's leaving a message or you answered the phone.
- Legitimate companies DO NOT spoof a phone number (deliberately falsifying a telephone number and/or name relayed as the Caller ID information to disguise the identity of the calling party.)
- Legitimate companies DO NOT call posing as a "process server" or "legal locator" with threats of being prosecuted, served papers, or going to court. (Note: Process servers don't call you ahead of time, leave a different number to call back while giving you a last chance to "pay up". Process servers show up and serve.)
- Legitimate debt collection companies MUST send you a letter by United States Postal Service postmarked 5 days from initial contact. That letter should clearly list their company letterhead and information and the original lender of any loan with the accurate dates, the account (bank or credit union) for which it was deposited and the contact information of the original lender.
- NEVER give your full or partial social security number, date of birth, full name, etc should they ask this info for "verification" that it is you they are speaking to. *This is referred to as "phishing". It's an easy way to have your identity stolen.
- Should you accidentally answer a call from any Zombie Debt Collector or Debt scammer, make sure to Write down the time, date, phone number(s), person calling, company name, conversation and any details of the call.

This number has called my office phone several times and have left a recorded message. I called them back today and when the man answered I could hear him talking to people in the background. He never said hello, or stated the name of the company. I kept saying hello and he finally said did you get a call from this number. I told him I had and that they were calling a place of business and it needed to stop. He then told me I don't like your tone, you're on my phone (repeated this 4 times) and said I was wasting his time! Really? I asked who he was looking for and he continued to yell at me. I hung up...I was getting nowhere. I don't know how to get these calls to stop!

I received the same call and when I call this number (301)476-1044 back it goes to voicemail and says "Wayne Johnson"!

Message from 301-476-1044 stated to call 844-246-8944 regarding an urgent matter. When I called and asked to whom I was speaking with she stated Shannon. I asked what ACA she would not answer my question, she wanted me to give her my phone number. I would not provide until she told me what the call was in regards to. She hung up on me. I called back and insisted that they tell me who they were and what they wanted. She would not give me any information I told her that I was just hung up on and when I wouldn't give them any info she said "no wonder you were hung up on" and then hung up on me again.

Received a call from the same number. They asked if this was, and they stated my name. They said, and I quote, you wife be telling us that u be dead." I asked to whom I an speaking to, again got the same response. I asked to speak to a supervisor, she said, we ain't got no supervisor today. I then told her that I looked up the number she was calling from and told her that this is a scam. If you call me again that I will file chargers against the company with the FTC. Then sue the company for so much money, someone maybe even you, will have to sell one of your kidneys to pay for it.

When I asked them who they were calling for, could not tell me. Then they wanted to act like they were the police dept, so I told them to ---- off cause I knew that was bull. Called the do not call # and reported them. These kind of places need to  be put out of business as soon as possible. Since they woke me up this morning and I'm retired will find out today what can be done. You rude people need to start looking for another job. Bye

Please whatever you do!  DO NOT GIVE YOUR INFORMATION!  These people are scam artists!  They have called my phone saying that they are ACA and that there is an important matter to discuss in regards to my account!  HA....they have so far called me from 5 different phone numbers!  And i am sure i will receive more calls from different numbers for this ACA before the year is out!  I block the number and then they call from a new number.  These are scum bags and believe me, there is nothing you can do to stop them, they will keep calling again and again and again!  I figure sooner or later they will stop calling, but they dont stop calling!  The reason you really cant report them is that they dont have any real address.  They prey on the weak who will fall for their scam and give them money that they def. do not owe!!!
