I need help

I don't know who or what company this number is from I have not ever seen this number and is the first time they've called.And another thing is that they don't say the name of the company all they say is that they are a collection company and that's it.

Please be advised that this is a scam.  Please report them to the Federal Trade Commission as soon as possible.  They can 't give you a company name.  Please  do not be afraid of them.  They use any means to scam you or scare you, Everybody knows this is not a valid number and they spoof numbers.  Overseas.

The only help you need is an attorney and the Federal Trade Commission.  Call them soon.

DO not deal with these people.  I took the advice and reported  them to the FTC and the FCC commission.  They are scamming people who are weak and don't know any better. I know what to do every time they call our home. Yaaaaay!!!!

These bozos are calling me and I don't owe anyone anything.  Does calling the FTC stop the calls?

They left a voice mail that they are a debt collectors. I called the number on the caller ID and the person answering said that they were a debt collection agency (?E.O.S.), but that they had called the wrong number.  Man would not give further information. I have no debt.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Some Tips:
*Keep all messages
*Take a picture of your Caller ID
*Keep any and all conversations recorded to your states recording laws, some require they be told, others do not. This can be transferred to a recording device.
*Keep a notebook handy for writing time,date, who you spoke with and what the conversation detailed.
*Check your SOL for your state as well.
*Attorneys need to be licensed as a DC to collect, all DC's must be licensed in their state as well as yours if different.
