Something about a Nigerian fortune and the president of Nigeria. I didn't bite.

They call multiple times a day from this number.  No name left.  Just very annoying

Calls come in to work line at least weekly. Recording says, "Please continue to hold". Impossible - if I wasn't holding to begin with how can I possibly CONTINUE to do so? But I oblige...by putting them on hold.

Calls at work, Indian accent guy saying this is a recorded line. I hung up after that, called back several times.

Got a voice message that said that I could make lots of money using their tracking system.

Constantly calling my work phone EVERYDAY

I have been getting calls from this number. I finally answered the woman said this call is being recorded  ask for a person I told them wrong number and hung up. don't know who it is from or anything.

You need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation (by law they have to go back to the original creditor to prove you owe the debt), cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (think of it as the best $6.59 you ever invested).  Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it.  Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter.  You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to.  Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment.  If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt and we would all be the richer for it.  Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front):  http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.  

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

They call and hang up. Scammers. Phishing calls.

Called my office.  When I picked up music played and asked me to continue to hold.  I did not call them, why would I hold.  Number blocked

CID "Jefferson Capital". No message.

Sounded like a debt collector.  Could hear a lot of background noise.  Didn't introduce herself when she called.  Immediately went into "this call may be recorded or monitored...is xxxx there?"  Person did not live nor work here.

Exact same thing here. We're a multi-line call center and we constantly get calls from this number. They don't ever get through because our clients have to enter a 4 digit code to get to their broker. But, you can see how many attempts they make each day/week/month

Continually calls even though number is blocked.  Shows 25 calls with duration of 0 seconds when I look at my phone activity.  Seems they can't take a hint!

I mistyped earlier - CID is "JEFFERSONCAPTAL" no "i". Don't know if they're a debt collector that can't even spell their own name, or 1 of the other scams listed by others. But they call/hangup everyday.

Harassing non stop

I just received a call on my office line and looked it up here while it rang, luckily I see everyone's comments so it saved me from answering. I let to transfer to my voicemail.

calls several times a day almost every day on my brand new business land line.  Caller ID shows Jefferson Capital.  I never answer the call and it is blocked...but the calls keep coming anyway.
