- TRBS scam. Just ignore everyone. No one will ever show up. A real processes server will never tell you they are coming. If they can't serve you they don't get paid so a real one will never tell you to basically not be there when they arrive.. It's a phony call. Just ignore.

- BarbI got a call today at 3:44 pm from Micheal Scott with Legal Support Services in conjunction with County Services. They were calling regarding a sealed court summons under my name and ssn. He said he would be by my residence or my place of employment. Umm, good luck, I don't work. Anyway, if I wanted to reschedule my arrest I could call him back. Yeah, ok. Right after I secure my firearm and put the dog away as requested. I think one would want to keep those out in ready for this [***] head to show up? SCAM!

- CWG40 replies to ttttNo one is going to show up. No legitimate process server calls you up in advance and tells you he or she is coming by. This is basically an attempt to scare money out of someone. Ignore and block the calls.

- JoeReceived the same call at 1600 today. The gentleman never identified me by name or the debt. The voice mail said his name was Michael Scott and that he and an officer would be by in 72 hours to serve me papers and to make sure all weapons and animals were secure and that I had proper id on me. He also said they would go to my place of employment if I wasn't home and didn't schedule a time. I called back and got a messaging service. I left my phone number telling them to schedule a time to come by since I'm not employed I want to make sure I'm home. I had no idea it was a scam, but I'm glad I said what I said.

- BigA replies to Pauline GCriminals masquerading as debt collectors attempt to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged (they use the bad check or hot check claim a lot) and go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished without actually being sued or going to court, be sued, and a variety of other variations on this, all for an alleged or nonexistent debt. One of the tricks they use is to call your family, friends, neighbors and/or places of employment (past or present or both) to create panic and embarrassment so that their intended victim calls them and they can scare that person into paying their extortion money. They will use the words “Mediator”, “Arbitrator”, or “Law Office” to make you believe that they are something other than a debt collector want-a-be and that they don’t have to follow Federal and State collection laws. They do have to follow those laws, but they won’t. They mention that they have received a Fax document, to create the sense of urgency. They also tell you that if you fail to call them back you are "waiving your right to council", which is pretty much nothing but hogwash. They also use the “process server” ruse who calls and claims he is going to serve you, but then says you could avoid it by calling another number where they will ask for money to “make it go away” (this is actually the same place, they work in teams, one pretending to be the server, and the other usually pretends to be a lawyer). Process servers do not ever call ahead so that you can dodge them. Process servers get paid to serve papers, nothing else.
