- CindyHey, this company violates SEVERAL FDC laws - INCLUDING "Robo" calls or pre-recorded voice messages. They're trying to collect on medical bills. They've been sued 34 times! If they're harassing you could receive $1500 per call!

- KarenI'm in the process of filing a complaint about this company, as they call continuously. I retained a BK Attorney and every time his office calls them they hang up on him. This was a loan and I used some friends as character references, and they're now calling my friends telling them things like I committed a criminal act. This harassment has got to stop.

- MSGI was getting calls from this number twice a day for weeks (did not answer, no vm) and found this site where most people have posted that the calls are a scam. Well, my mother in law just received a letter in the mail addressed to me saying they were collecting a debt from Quest Diagnostics from 2014. I looked through my records and indeed had an EOB from my insurance company matching the amount on which I had written "have not received bill." Quest never sent me a bill, but sent me to collections a year and a half later. I paid online at AMCA's website by credit card because I felt more secure doing so. If you're getting a call from AMCA, you probably have an old debt that you were never billed for, or it is a mistake. Either way, you'll want to clear it up.

- MarieThis number is for American Medical. It is important that you not answer or return a call to this number. If you should answer or call read the following before you do.
1. Don’t Pay or Acknowledge the Debt
Each state has a statute of limitations that dictates the amount of time you’re legally responsible for a debt. This time frame varies from state to state, but averages between 3 and 15 years. The statute of limitations applies to unsecured debts, such as credit cards, medical bills, utility bills, and private student loans, but not federal student loans.
If a debt collector calls out of the blue, don’t hastily acknowledge that a debt is yours. If the debt is valid, in all likelihood, the statue of limitations has passed and you no longer owe the money. Some collectors call after the statue of limitations has passed in a last-ditch effort to collect on an old balance. If you acknowledge the debt, this restarts the statue of limitations, which gives collectors the green light to pursue collection attempts.
2. Request Proof of the Debt
Within 30 days of being contacted about a debt, write the collection agency and ask the company to verify the debt. By law, debt collectors must provide written verification of this information or cease collection attempts. Keep a copy of the letter for your records. To ensure that your letter reaches the collector, mail your request via certified mail. In return, you receive a receipt when the postal service delivers the letter.
You can challenge or dispute a balance after the debt collector verifies the debt, but you must contact the original creditor to clear the mistake. Call the original creditor, or write a dispute letter. Likewise, the creditor must investigate and respond to your inquiry.
To improve the outcome of your claim, gather proof to support your argument, such as canceled checks or old account statements. If the original creditor verifies the debt and you cannot provide evidence to support your claim, seek help from a debt dispute lawyer.- Caller: American Medical
