Hey just an FYI to all of you who have complained about the number. If you ever go to a site that advertises these schools the second you click on em they got ya. I will tell you however, as a student at Kaplan University online I am proud to say that they never once treated me like that. They called me one time and that was it. If they call you obsessively then something's definetly up. Don't go there. Just be careful where you put your personal info.

847-783-8966 is one of the many numbers I get on my cell and landline.  I just say "hold on", lay the phone down and don't come back until I hear the loud beeping to tell me they hung up.  You don't have to speak to them.  You can not answer at all then look up the number online or just hang up.  Your choice!

Just got one of those calls, think I got one last week too. My rule of thumb is if I don't know the number, I don't answer. They aren't wasting my minutes. If it's important enough, they'll leave a message anyway. I do a reverse look up whenever I get a number I don't recognize. If that doesn't help, you can Google the number and it will almost always pull something for you. Basically, the bulk of the posts I read seem to have the same thing in common. Someone signed up for information for a college or trade school, which I have also done here in the last week or two. I say ignore it, delete the messages if they do leave them. Just don't answer, read what they've got to say in their information they're supposed to mail you and do some internet research. Lay out a plan where you dominate the meeting and it goes much easier than mine did.

Called my cell multiple times and I got no response when I answer.

These people have been harassing me for little under 2 weeks.  This is AIU online university.  I spoke with a live chat, and the person indicated that I would be removed from the list.  Never happened.


THEY WILL NOT STOP CALLING YOU EVEN IF YOU TELL THEM YOU ARE NOT INTERESTED.

Instead of calling and letting my cell phone ring until I pick up, they have taken to calling me, and hanging up before one ring.  This happens roughly 8 - 10 times daily, including weekends.

They got my information from a scam job website (www.mountainvalleycareers.com).  I got fed up today (Aug 1st, 2009) so I called them back immediately.  A woman picked up with a curt "Hello."  I told her that I keep getting calls from this number and I want to know what it's about.  She says "We're from an online university.  You signed up on a website to be called." I told them that they got my information without my consent and I want to be removed from their call list immediately.  She said "Fine" and slammed her phone down.

I am not going to go through a phone # change for these [***].  If I get called once more from these people, I'm taking it to legal action.

I called the number. The person answering says that it was intercontinental university. I told her to late me off their call list.

If it's not a # you recognize, then don't answer the damned phone!  I just added them to my REJECT list. Doing this means their calls won't come through on my phone.  It's just that easy!

I called them and told them to take my name off their list and told them they couldn't be that desparate for students. The operator sounded surprised about how often someone calls my home. It's freaking annoying since I work graveyards.

If you going to call all the time you could leave a name, return number and message when calling...So rude...very annoying,or stop calling....

Due to Fdcpa laws they can call on Saturday and Sundays even if it is the wrong number you have to advise them not to call you the next time they call
