This is a rip off!!!  I ordered an online special back on 12/6/13. They automatically renewed my subscription!! What a joke!! I called 1-855-226-0429. All I got was an automated message. I followed the prompts to cancel my subscriptions and I am supposed to get a refund in 1 to 2 business days. They made my account overdrawn and will not refund the bank fee. I will be contacting the BBB. This is a scam!

Completely scam. Can't believe that I have to deal with this fraud activity . I never  placed any order with them.

I have a bill charged to my Sears Account for $26.00 from TME*4PWKJ1*KIPPFIN at phone number 855-226-0429 NY. I don't know who this is nor did I speak to anyone at this number.

2 unauthorized magazine subscription renewals from this number on my credit card this month. Ordered the magazines last year for $2 through my frequent flyer program. Both automatically renewed for a total of $96. Bit of a rate hike? This is bs. Called and disputed through my credit card company. We'll see.

I called last week and cancelled three subscriptions and still received a charge this week.

So these [***] are the worst. I just spent hours dealing with a charge for $201.00 for 1 magazine subscription a year prior. I finally figured out how to get in contact with a human from the 8552260429 number. YOU JUST HAVE TO PRESS 0! Just press 0 when the automated lady comes on. I spoke to a douchey guy who was trying sooooo hard to act professional and had the gaul to ask for my credit card number so he could "find" my account. I only gave my name and zip code and threatened police action if he didn't stop [***] around and refund me. He said I would be refunded within three days so we'll see what happens with that. In the meantime my card is cancelled and my bank will be sending a new one so they can't charge me out of spite. [***].

I actually did not receive a call from this number, but instead was scammed through the Delta Sky Miles magazine subscription site.  After getting my 'free' three year subscription with my Sky Miles, I was charged $152.00 for a renewal in 4 / 2014 & 4 / 2015.  I discovered this year's charge when paying my VISA bill.  I missed the last years because it was buried in several charges related to our two week road trip through the Southwest. That one is on me for being lazy.  I did call the number that was listed on my statement and the first information they wanted was my charge card number.  I hung up and called VISA.  The subscriptions were for my son and sent to him directly, so I never knew that they didn't stop.  How they found my credit card number is a mystery.  SI verified that the subscription renewal began last year.  They also told me that they could not cancel the subscription because it was through an outside subscription service.  I explained to them that up to that point I had found no fault with them, but now it seems that they were in 'cahoots'  with the scammers.  They then cancelled my subscription, following it up with an email confirmation.

The people at VISA advised me not to contact them (because they immediately asked for my credit card number) and they would deal with them through their fraud division.

I had two automated charged billed to my account.  I called the number on the transaction (855-226-0429) to learn more.  They said the charges were authorized on 5/23/2015, but I never authorized the charges.  When I called my bank to dispute both charges, they indicated it was a renewal charge.  (As other folks have said, read the fine print. Ugh.)

I tried to use the automated system for this magazine company to cancel my services, but they didn't list all the options on the phone tree.  I couldn't talk to a person based on the options listed.  Just hit "0" when their automated system lists phone tree options.  If you keep hitting "0" you'll be able to speak to someone in their customer services department.  I was able to speak with someone and get a pro-rated refund for both subscriptions.  (Not the best, but I'll take it.)  Their representative was polite--make sure you ask for a confirmation number for whatever services you request (cancellation, renewal, what-have-you.)

Scammers.  Here's hoping the refund hits my bank in the 24-72 hours proclaimed.

i agreed to keep the current subscription and canceling all future

Just found a $36.00 charge on my wife's bank statement. I went to the WWW.SYNAPSEGROUPINC.COM  website and told them to cancel. Thanks Bob P for the info. We will see what happens. 855-226-0429 was listed on my bank statement along with the subscription ID.

That is the wrong thing to do.  You have a limited amount of time to dispute the charge with your bank.  Failure to that may result in your not getting your money back.  Also, they may take out another payment in the meantime.  They will stall as long as possible because they know this.  You need to contact your bank immediately and file a fraud claim and get a new card number.

Dave how did you dispute with them? Do they have a website anyone? Because they offered me something for a refund but how do I know if and when it will be refunded

After signing up for 4 magazine subscriptions a year ago at ridiculously low prices, I should have expected an automatic renewal at substantially increased rates. Unfortunately I was not so observant, and was charged $131 for the renewal of the said 4 magazines. Thankfully I noticed the charge, and called the number listed. The automated system is horrible to work with, and wastes so much time. After nearly 20 minutes on the phone with "her," I hung up assuming I would be getting a full refund. After weeks of waiting the refund never came, so I did my research and found that if you press "0" as the automated voice starts listing the different areas to contact, it will put you through to an actual person. I only had to give a magazine title, my zip code and my last name, not a credit card number. The gentlemen I spoke with was very professional and helpful, corrected whatever was preventing me from getting a refund, and promised a full refund within 72 business hours. Amazingly, the full $131 was back in my bank account less than 24 hours later.

I think this company is shifty in their schemes, and is hoping to capitalize off people who don't check their bank accounts. That being said, if you call them out on it and request a refund, they will grant it (just make sure you press 0 so you can speak to a real person).

I fell for the ridiculously low prices.  3 magazines for $2/year and the People was $121. Unfortunately 6 months have went by after trying multiple time to contact them.

Pressed "0" to the number listed and got a nice women that gave me her first and last names.
Refund of $77.  Will keep my eye out for this.

This is a magazine renewal or cancellation phone number.  They renew or cancel for a number of Time publications.  I was billed $33 for All You magazine on my credit card.  I just called and asked to cancel, and they renewed it instead for $3 for the next 6 months.  That works for me.  I believe if you said no to the offer, they'd refund your full amount.

The number showed up on my credit card statement, so I checked the number.  I turns out that if was for my renewal on "CONSUMER REPORTS ON HEALTH," which I did renew.  They did not did not do it without my reorder.  I am happy.
