received call at 12:41 pm EST--voice message left attempting to comfirm my idenity and if not---hang up--i did not listen to full message. Other site say i pay for the call. True?

They called wanted me to identify myself I asked them who they were would not identify ueas I did I td them they called me.  She said sry I could not help you. I told her from the start if she was a telemarketer or bo collector she could not call me cause k was on do not call list. And she hung up on me

This number is calling my place of work, I am reporting them. 1) I owe them nothing! 2) You do not call a place of business!!!

they call say u owe many, can't prove it. wont send bills or letters. I settled one time and couple weeks latter, they ask for more money. These people call for money without any proof you owe. What about innocent till proven guilty.

All they provided was a name No company name just there personal name. I asked them where are you calling from she would state her name only.

This is a legitimate collection agency. When I answer the phone the gentleman asked me for my address my birthday in the last four of my social. I told him I wasn't giving any of that information to a stranger over the phone. I suspected that it was a collection effort. He said he would try to help me out and he began reading off my address to me. He said that he needed to verify who I was. I said who are you collecting for? He answered, with the name of a medical service provider that I had been disputing their billing with for a year. After I was sure that he was a legitimate collection agent, I proceeded with giving him my birth date and the last four of my social, so that he could begin talking to me about the collection effort.

Being a "legitimate" debt collectors is not to be confused with one violating the law while collecting.  The only thing that DC will help you with is out of your money.  If you are already disputing that bill, they should not even be trying to collect on it.

You need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation, cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter.  You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to.  Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment.  If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt and we would all be the richer for it.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

I can confirm this is JP Recovery Services.  They are a legitimate collection agency.  Called about a hospital debt for my daughter.

This number calls constantly at all hours of the night! I tell them I don't know the people and they keep calling

Won't say who calling from, what they want.  Only want to threaten me with "being a courier from a county, if I don't sign papers they will go to my employer, I'm not employed, and get my bosses signature, don't have a boss" oh and " also turn me on to the court as avoiding contact, when I'm home every single day, have not received anything in mail or by certified mail from them.  Threatening and rude!

Also would not tell me what county or state either, or name of court or any identifying information at all.

This company is treacherous!!! They told me owed $2400 on a bill from 2014, which I had already paid off. When I told them that it was paid off, they said, "oh well we also have this bill you need to pay". SCAM SCAM SCAM
