All of you who refuse this assessment are complete idiots. The point of the visit is for Humana to be able to budget correctly the amount of Medicare money they will need for each member. This helps costs and premiums either go up or down depending upon how many members they are able to see in a given year. Despite whether you think you are the healthiest person alive, a 30-minute in home visit once a year is not asking a lot. Although I can see how for some of you it may get in the way of Judge Judy or All My Children - God forbid! And to think it's an invasion of privacy? What exactly are you trying to hide? When the costs of your prescriptions and doctor visits go up, you'll have no one to blame but yourself. Also, Humana is a Medicare Advantage provider - if you don't want the home visit, go back to regular Medicare you incompetent morons.

You are 100% incorrect.  This is for the benefit of the client.  They will not change or encorage any treatment change or medicine change.  This is a benefit only for the client.  Humana has been doing this for years and it's a service Humana provides.

I got a call from 877-750-8281 saying they were from Wellcare and to call 855-319-4450, They've called multiple times before but when they called at 8:42 this morning I had enough and called them, I found out that they are Humana, They were told to never call again, I contacted a lawyer and will go for $500.00 a call if they call again ! Liars and cheats really make my blood boil !

These LIARS said they were from WellCare and gave me this number to call back, I ripped them up one side and down the other, They've been HARASSING me all year long ! I told them I found a lawyer and would get a minimum of $500.00 a call for every time they called.

My wife got a call from them the other day,  schwduled an appointment for the followimg Thursday. Out of curiousity the day of,  she called Humana who told her they have no idea about this appointment or sercice and it wasnt part of anything from Humana.   She called back to This number and got a machine.   Told them she doeant want them out,  and if they ahow up she will call the police.

My wife has been with humana for 3 years now and this year is the first this has been offered.  If they offeres to everyone it would have been offered her first year not just 3rd.

Received a call from this number on my (unlisted) cell. Male caller left message about a health monitoring service offer from United Health Care for subscribers, in-home assessment, etc. I do not have UHC now, never have, and if this is any indication of how they do business, never will.

I am insured with Humana.  The send a doctor to your house once a year for a health checkup.  Nothing involved and it doesn't cost you anything

It's a legitimate service. As many on here have said that have actually done the visit. It's not a scam. It's part of your coverage.  It's not to replace your doctors, whatsoever. They were friendly and helpful.

Dr Walters came out just went over my meds dud my blood pressure  was very nice.

This appears to be to be basically a Medicare scam.  That is, an attempt by insurance companies to increase their income be creating more services and thus more income for the insurance company.  That’s the only purpose I can think of.  Supposedly a nurse practitioner will be better at coding treatments than the regular doctor.  This may be all quite legal.

Involves nurse practitioners but may involve other medical professionals as well.

This scam is targeting the elderly.  Basically trying to scare them into signing up for this service.

However, there is a lot of just plain ordinary cold-call scamming  going on as well.  Fishing expeditions trying to get information on Medicare patients.

If you have an insurance card, and you receive calls from people pushing home nurse practitioner visits, call the number on the back of the insurance card.  Check the number out that is calling you.
Absolutely do NOT agree to any sort of home care in the absence of a consultation with your own primary care physician.  Most people on Medicare (including myself) see a primary care physician once every three or four months for a general check up.  There is no need for a home care visit by a nurse practitioner in that kind of situation.  But as I say, consult your primary care physician.
