-caller said he was from the windows IT department asking if I had a problem with my computer? Hang up immediately and block the number from your cell phone. - Agot a call yesterday.. guy from Windows saying my computer was infected with a virus.. told the guy that's funny since I own a MacBook.. he called me a [***] [***] [***] and hung up.. called back and called me a [***] again and hung up.. called a third time and I handed him his ass! It sounded like he was in a call center.. there's gotta be some way to trace these calls!
- BruceI too got a call from this number and as others have stated, the person had an India accent, (also sounded like a call center as I could hear other voices in the background). He went through his spiel about being from Microsoft IT and that my computer was giving them notifications of someone trying to hack it. When I told him I didn't know how that could be since my computer wasn't hooked up to the Internet he hung up. I've also received this same sort of call from two other numbers......that are all on call block now. When will they just give up.....smh
- Caller: Supposedly from Microsoft, (NOT)
- lou hong1st they sent out malware attacking browsers to pop up a window tell you your computer is under attack. Then they list this # for you for get help: hand over your credit card# so they can charge xyz. DO NOT take the bait. Call 1-800-myapple or windows to get instruction on how to remove the pop up window. Your computer and personal info are safe. Only your browser is under attack. It can be clean up in a matter of minutes. Wish the phone company can track it down send the person behind it to hell.
- Brent tSame saw everyone else's story except they td me it was their third and final attempt. Has anyone sent all this to Microsoft? It makes them look pretty bad, and I suspect they have the computing power to wipe this guy out.

On that website, I found an image that contains these words:
"Microsoft Certified Professional Systems Engineer"
This is garbage because only people can be certified by Microsoft, not businesses.
No name is given of who has the certification.
A more clever scammer would use "Microsoft Partner".
This site, and any phone call from this number, should be considered a scam. - panaThanks William for your post! The info is appreciated. Good to know when the "duck" is out of range. Even my retriever cant swim to India. ; )
- JerryThey called this morning to tell me that my computer has a virus.....knowing it was a scam I decided to play along to some degree and have fun with them, I asked them for some details about my virus and my computer and they informed me that my mircrosoft software was giving them information of many virus that need to be fixed. Funny thing is that I own a MAC not a PC and I would never allow microsoft software in my home. I asked him "how can I fix this and he stated that he would be happy to help me correct the problem..............then I held the phone away from my ear while I yelled "F**K YOU" into the phone. He promptly hung up.

- AnnIt's a scam. Computer voice telling me that a virus has been detected on my computer and that I should call 855-539-4917 for help. Don't fall for this stupid stuff.
- CBGot this call yesterday. He went through the bit about my Windows computer having a virus. I asked how he knew and he made up some mumbo jumbo about computers talking when they go online and it told him. I told him I didn't use Windows OS and he asked what I used. I told him I wasn't talking him because I didn't trust the call. He laughed and hung up.

- AlastorJust got a call from them. They are getting smarter as time goes on apparently. After I said "hello" there was the pause for the computerized "person" to start speaking. Very nice sounding American sounding female voice they play now. "This is your final warning. Your computer is infected with a virus and is sending out messages to our computer. Call this number now to fix it (and they gave the 1-855-539-4917 number that they were making the call on as the number to call)." Darn! I was totally up for giving the bogus scammers quite the merry chase, but they no longer have an option to even press 1 to speak to a person. This site really needs another option for lying, defrauding weasels who try to trick people as one of the drop-down options - I shall have to leave it as Unknown until that option becomes available LOL.
- Caller: Spoofed computer company
- JulieThey called, did not leave message, blocked them.
- Brutto replies to Brett BroGlad you did a quick disconnect of your internet or they would have gotten you. They call me with the same garbage. Because I use linux puppy almost exclusively I know there is no way in Heaven or any other place that Microsoft would call me to fix my computer.
http://puppylinux.com/download/index.html is the link to download a free fully functional image file (.iso) that you can burn to make a cd boot directly to Linux.
good luck btw linux runs totally in ram if you so choose. There is no way to to get caught by these Idiots.
Brutto (means ugly in Italian) - BruttoThese idiots call periodically claiming to be from Microsoft IT department and that my computer is throwing error messages. DUH I use linux (which I run in RAM) almost exclusively.
There is no way my computer would even "think" of contacting Microsoft.
The link to download a free linux operating system is:
