- DebR| 1 replyJust received a call from this number (Ronald Gross Grubb) couldn't make out the last name. Said I was being served and if I had any questions, that I should call this number back and ask to speak to the plaintiff. Is anyone going to do anything about this? This is wrong and law enforcement should step in.

- Tamianth replies to DebRSpoofed numbers make it hard to track these criminals down. It takes time. The government is cracking down on this kind of thing though.

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans
Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010 FBI National Press Office
(202) 324-3691
The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.
According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.
The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.- Caller: Informtional Post

- Not Important855-607-8515 aka 346-444-8572 just called our business. It was a pre-recorded robocaller and it was looking for a Joseph18673. Yes, it asked for a first name and random numbers for the last name. The robocaller was calling to inform the Joseph18673 person that they were trying to serve them with papers. There's no Joseph here Idiots. We called the number back and is claims to be a Stern and Clay firm. After doing some searching it seems that this Stern and Clay firm is a SCAM. Be sure to check them out on RipOffReport, 800notes, the BBB, etc. If they call again we will be filing a formal complaint with all the various state and federal organizations, as well as contacting their local PD and sending an officer out to investigate firsthand.

She stated that was calling to inform us that she would be removing our number from their calling list per our request. We contacted them and left them a voicemail message to let them know that the person they were looking for is not at our business, has never been at our business, and to please remove us from their calling list.

- Vicki moatsI have received two phone calls from "Jackie" who says I will be served papers, doesn't say for what. I did call back both times, which I now know, was a mistake, but I just get a recording, not her. After I googled the number I find out it is a scam! I am now going to call our Sheriffs office.
