Here in NC you can contact the NC Attorney Generals Consumer Complaints division on line and file a complaint .
They will write the company and most times the calls will stop 2 to 3 weeks later. Check for this option in other states.  think most states have a consumer protection division  in some state agency. Good luck.
This method does work in NC and I have used 3 or 4 times over the years.

Received a call from thus number didn't answer but they did leave a message it was a woman all she said was hey call me back never stated who or for what she was calling about

Simply talking to a creditor does not restart the DLA. The only thing that restarts the DLA is making a payment. Please stop giving incorrect information.

If the debt is on your credit report morgage companies require it to show 0 $$.  That is why I can't get a mortgage.

My job is to answer the phone for a small company.  We receive these calls from this number all the time.  It takes forever for them to connect, so I know it s dialed by an automatic dialer and my voice triggers them picking up their side of the line.   Our company policy is to answer all phone calls, because it could be a client.  These calls are a total waste of our time and wish there was a way to stop them.

Actually FCRA states that a collection agency or any bill collector can only call during the debtors hours M-S 8am to 9pm your local time not theirs
Sunday 8am-7pm......

Actually they can't call your business place if you tell them to stop.  Calling multiple times a day is considered harassment and collection agency workers have families to feed at least they aren't living off government

Keeps calling, every day using different numbers. I do not owe anyone money.

Call blocker can be of some help.  Not perfect.  No perfect answer to the callers who can spoof an endless amount of numbers.

A cease and desist letter might  be helpful.  Certified, return receipt.  Also a call blocker.  Do not pick up on numbers you do not recognize.

A simple C & D letter shouldn't contain any more information than your request to the caller.  They probably already have your address and certainly your phone number. Other than a C & D letter, call blocker is your best bet.

Collection agency.... more than 6 years from that debt was placed in collection... now they are desperate... sorry pals, aint gonna happen

they keep calling my cell phone and telling me all about another persons debt. pretty sure this is illegal

Possible debt from 8 years ago; statute of limitations has long run past. I informed the caller that the SOL has run out in Florida and he replied that they bought the debt and could still pursue. I took MCM's address down and wished him the best of luck! BTW, he sounded Indian though his name is "Roger"
