- David SThey called me at 8:25 am today. It's worth calling them back. Turns out, in my case at least, the person they were looking for gave a wrong number and they called ME by mistake. She advised she'd mark my number as wrong.
Oh and no voicemail was left, I just googled the number and then called.- Caller: Midland Credit Management
- Call type: Debt collector

- Missy replies to SusanIf they are calling your cell, simply block the number.
- anonymous replies to Da ManHi. That is one avenue, this IS turning back into a "debtors prison" nation though. So, ignoring is not good for tge long term. You actually have two options that really work. One, get THEIR information, theman or woman claiming You owe a debt. Send a letter requesting the man sends you out their debt validation letter authorizing them to collect on company "X" 's behalf. Once fulfilled, then reply "thank you, now please send a copy of the itemised bill so i may examine it for validity. If they have it(usually do not) then send a third letter requiring them send You the amount THEY(the collection agency) PAID for the debt and You will gladly compensate any loss incurred. This IS a common law land AND NO ONE can claim more than IS DUE, otherwise, even off by a PENNY it is fraud. You may also ask who they have to testify with first hand knowledge you owe the alleged debt. Another way is send a promissary note for full payment of the validated debt after receiving confirmation the unsecure debt is valid. The will accept it, or deny it. Google promissary note n u will get it-READ!!!!!) If they accept n do NOT return it, ALL collection MUST STOP! If it is not accepted, then as per UCC1-605 "tender offered, tender refused; debt is discharged!" Both ways keep you IN HONOUR and set them up for bringing a false claim, harassment, violations of fair debt and collections act which THEY contract to follow. Have fun!!!

No reference to number of times that can be called during the day or which days, but it does say the accepted times are between 8am and 9pm. - Courtney AliThis caller will not stop calling me. I am not sure who it is.
- Fred replies to Da ManI have been ignoring their calls for years now but I mistakingly answer one tonight. I told him Im not interested in anything that they are selling and dont call me again!!
Is that going to show as activity on my credit report? Every year they sell my account off to a new company. Its been five different companies calling over the years. - San Francisco replies to Da ManThank you very much for sharing your knowledge! I have been harassed by this number several times a day every day. Now I know how to deal with them. Thanks again for the great info!!!
- H_Stef replies to Da ManI have on a few occasions received calls from MCM to my work cellphone, issued to me by my employer, which is a state org. in MA. I have absolutely no idea how they would get that cell phone number, as it is only used for my clients and is not listed online. This is unacceptable - I just received another call on both my personal cell and my work cell, which used to be my boss's. When I am no longer in this position, this phone will be someone elses w/ this number, and will receive calls from a debt collector looking for me. Additionally, I fear that they could be contacting other people in my organization.
Not only have I received them to my employer-issued cell phone, but I received a call to that phone on a Saturday. I was so angry, and did not confirm whether they had the right person, but I demanded to know how they got that number, and assured them that it was illegal in so many ways more than just harassment (without knowing for sure), but the called got very clearly nervous and said they'd call back another time, ending the call.
I do have something in my name that was passed onto MCM from a very long time ago (my family has gone through very, very traumatic and difficult financial times over the past 15 years through no fault of our own - seemingly never-ending) and I am not able to pay off debts in my name right now - but doing some kind of shady research to find my work cell number is absolutely sickening to me. And scary. What can I do about this?
Also, this might be naive, but if I have a debt collection amount (unfortunately a different one - a student loan that I didn't realize wasn't coming out of my account, and that they sent to a collection agency 3 days before I was in touch with them to fix it -- my worst nightmare come true) that I am now having to start to pay back over time...what are the major issues with doing this, aside from it being on my credit report until it's paid off and then 7 years after? I don't want that of course, but since they said they can't do anything about it now, I do need and want to pay it off. The sooner the better, I suppose, so no use in avoiding it forever...right?
Thank you - H - HotfixReceived many calls every day from this number final tole them to loose this number and stop calling me also put a block on calls received from them,

- FL girlGot a call from this number. Im on time on any bills we have. My credit score is good too. I rejected the call and didnt get any voicemail. I was almost tempted to answer the phone call since i was expecting a call. But i thought it would be best if they just leave a voice mail and i can call back. But no one left a voicemail. Hmmm...

- MaxI'm not sure who called since this human garbage never left a message. I don't know how someone could work for a company like this, they can't have any moral values or a conscience.

- Meratahmed replies to Coolbreeze15 march 23, 2015| 1 replyJust because it's not on your credit report doesn't mean you're not responsible for the debt. Call them and ask them to mail you proof and they will.
- BigA replies to MeratahmedWell there are several flaws in your post. The first flaw is that your extremely lame advice will do that person any good since they posted here in 2015, which is not only clearly evident by the date under the screen name, but also in their screen name itself. Of course I can see how you would be confused about that. The next flaw in your extremely poor advice is that they are required by law to send a dunning letter out automatically without anyone having to ask, which also includes your right to dispute the debt. The third flaw in your extremely poor advice is that a debt validation must be requested by law in writing. Verbal requests do not have to be honored and I am certain that this outfit will not honor anything you request verbablly.
- MichaelI did not answer a call from an unknown number. Caller ID was blank. They did not leave a message. Probably a spam call. Blocked.
