- Caller: Political Scam
- Call type: Political call
- cindy| 9 repliesI answered, and they asked for my husband by name. I blocked it for good. The problem is: There is supposedly a machine that can be bought, and u can program any name and phone number on it. So we block that number, they put in another number and so on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is nuts.
- Dan Hollis| 5 repliesI got a live person on the other end who asked if I was willing to take a very short survey. Usually I decline, but I said yes since I had the time. After one question ("Are you a registered voter") she was cut off by hold music. I called back later and got a recording identifying themselves as pollsters. So I doubt it was a scam call, but instead a legitimate attempt that they screwed up, perhaps by pressing the wrong button.
- Call type: Survey
- KathyAre you a registered voter? Do you identify with the D, R or Independent party?
- RogB| 4 repliesNot a scam call, short political survey for VA residents. Had no problem with it.
- Call type: Political call
- Kathi| 1 replyOk, so if this is supposed to be apolitical survey, which I did plenty before election day, WHY did they call a week after the election was over?! I got the call on the 12th. Election day was last week!
- helen replies to cindy| 3 repliesCindy, There are several landline phones that allow u to personally block up to 3500 callers. Panasonic Model KX TGEA20 w/5 handsets is one I bought. Yes, they do come back w/different nrs. Must be thousand of scammers/telemarketers who want to use our personal phones to harrass/exploit us. My sister and I block ANY nr that calls twice and leaves no msg. If it's a legitimate caller or friend, they'll just have to find another way to contact us. Most friends names show on our Caller ID, unless it's their cell.
I just saw a Blocker, today, on Home Shopping Network (HSN), that will block 3000 nrs & it already has in it, 250 nrs blocked, they say are KNOWN scammers!
I thought they were a little pricey--$79.95.
My phone w 4extra handsets was about $98.00. I needed new phones anyway. So, it works for me. - Helen replies to RogBBull....I live in Georgia and rec'd call on 9 Nov!
