Panasonic also sells a phone in which you can block whole area codes. I have most of the toll free codes, e.g. 855,866,877, blocked. Saves a lot of space for specific numbers.

The scientific survey company would like for you to participate in a short survey and at the end of the survey you will be awarded your cruise after giving them your credit card info, bank accounts and SS#.  All refundable of course.   Well I do not want to go to the Bahamas. I want a European Cruise. I have already won 1000 of them on the phone. I win them every week.  The Bahamas suck. Lots of crazy black folk selling ganja and wanting to braid your hair.   Last week it was the Wounded Civil War Vets that called. Wanted donations. Vietnam vets association of America charity calling me from India for a donation a few weeks ago. Then we have  surveys and more surveys. The Miscosoft Infected computer scam. The American Cancer scam of America Scam.  Then we had the Nigerians calling me for donations for Bernie Sanders. Then it was the I won the Publisher Clearing House  Sweepstakes.  Just had to send money to register. Then  it was the Solar Panel company from Nigeria. Then it was i just won a free security system for my house.  Then it was Jill from Lower your credit card rate scam.  Then it was I want to sell you a timeshare in the Caribbean scam.

I don't know what's going on today, but I've had 10 calls from various numbers. I can't block a toll free number. Why is this? I should be able to block any number I want to block.

i don't know what all the fuss is.  I just gave them  my Amex and Visa credit card numbers along with  my BofA checking and savings account numbers and told them to take out whatever they needed for their program, and just send me a receipt.  They were very nice, but they did call me back a second time and said they needed my Drivers license, Social Security, and U.S. Passport number.   I don't know why in the world they would meed that useless information, but I began to suspect something was fishy when they called the third time and said they needed my Marine Corps rifle number and my M.O.S.  I mean. . .like, gosh, I forgot that a long time ago in DaNang when I got shot in the head.  But at least they never bothered me anymore after that.  Just be open with these people. . .that's all it takes.

They called this afternoon wanting me to take a survey on voter attitude....I told them it sucked and hung up!

Received the call.  Caller id was 800 Service, blocked it.

Called our home at 8:23, just finishing our meal. I get so tired of all these scammers and according to the comments I read, certainly good I did not answer. I usually never answer any number I do not know. Thanks for the comments. I am not alone in this, thinking of getting rid of landline, but do not know if a security system would work on a cell.
