- lojohnsoni have been recieving these calls to. most the time i don't answer thanks to caller id. but he called me at work and of course scince my boss answered i had to talk to him. he gave me his last name but no first. he spelled it for me ( Eyanzy). and told me i owed 1018.00. for a 200 loan. and it was because of the interest was 60%. but i could not talk to him at work so i took down his number. then today that company calls and left a number for me to call 855-868-2577 ext.5962 with a different name Mclondy. i am tired of receiving these calls. and what gets me the company i borrowed from IM me to borrow more. and they already have 600 hundred of my money. and i found out that most loan companies sell your account to third party. so never get a pay day loan over the internet. screwed in ohio lj.

- HRH| 6 repliesI got a phone call at work yesterday from these people regarding an alleged internet pay day loan. I said for them to mail me their info and to not call me at my employer, thank you and I hung up. The woman (who said her name was Ms. Brockman) called back immediately and asked for me again - she got angry with me for hanging up on her and said I had to pay this bill or she would sue me, etc. I told her that once I informed her to not call me at my place of employment that she could not do so - she told me that I was wrong. I got angry with her and then she hung up on me lol. She then immediately called back and asked for the HR department to verify my employment!!!! OKAY SHE CALLED ME AT MY OFFICE BUT HAD TO CALL BACK TO VERIFY EMPLOYMENT?????????? So I called the company back, finally got a supervisor allegedly named Mrs. Watkins who told me she would take my work number out of their system, that I apparently have 3 accounts with them and I needed to pay because it was going to be sooo much more expensive if they went ahead and debited my bank account or it took the money from my wages - I asked her if I could dispute the debt - she said "oh yes sure" so I asked how they would be able to take the money out of my account or from my wages if I dispute the debt and she said they would take legal action - I explained to Mrs. Watkins that if any money were to be debited from any account I hold that I would sue and sue immediately. She said they would have to take legal action first. I asked for their address and gave my email address because she was going to email to me the info to prove they're an actual company and to provide me with an invoice. No email and no more phone calls.....hmmmm.....legit collection agency? I'm thinking not!

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans
Washington, D.C. December 07, 2010
The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.
According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.
The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.
Some fraudsters have instructed victims to fax a statement agreeing to pay a certain amount, on a specific date, via a pre-paid Visa card. The statement further declares the victim will never dispute the debt.
If you receive these calls, do not follow the caller’s instructions. Rather, you should:
Notify your banking institutions.
Contact the three major credit bureaus and request an alert be put on your file.
Contact your local law enforcement agencies if you feel you are in immediate danger.
File a complaint at www.IC3.gov.
Tips to avoid becoming a victim of this scam:
Never give your Social Security number—or personal information of any kind—over the telephone or online unless you initiate the contact.
Be suspicious of any e-mail with urgent requests for personal financial information. The e-mail may include upsetting or exciting but false statements to get you to react immediately.
Avoid filling out forms in e-mail messages that request personal information.
Ensure that your browser is up-to-date and security patches have been applied.
Check your bank, credit, and debit card statements regularly to make sure that there are no unauthorized transactions. If anything looks suspicious, contact your bank and all card issuers.
When you contact companies, use numbers provided on the back of cards or statements - RoseThese ppl keep calling me threatening to garnish my wages. they called my employer today and wanted to verify my employment. My HR department called me and asked if it was ok to tell them. I said, yes. TRS thinks they can tell me they can take 30% of my income. I know they can't take [***]!! They have to take me to court and get a judgement first. They think they can get my employer to take money out of my account by sending them a "wage assignment". A wage assignment that we sign when we get the payday loan is voluntary and can be revoked at anytime. I called to make payment arrangements and they wouldn't accept it. In the state of California payday loan companies are not suppose to loan you over $500 and they are not suppose to charge me $150.00 to extend the loan which I paid three times and it didn't get applied to my loan. These ppl are loan sharks and I will never take out another loan. The customer service reps are rude, ghetto and unprofessional.

- Kenneth replies to Debt validationThe $1,000 under the Federal Debt Colelction Practices Act is per defendant not per call unfortunately. Manty States has additional laws that allow damages for each separate violation.
- ShanWow so much great info everyone! I couldnt get a name or address or anything in writing. I ignored them they went away. This time I will not return one call. If someone owed me $ I would send them a bill with what it was for just like any legitimate business or reasonable person.

Just inform your boss of the problems!! SCAMMERS!!! People just like this took $1,800.00 out of my account when my husband was overseas...They deserve nothing from any of us!

- Fedup5899I was left a message from this number as well by a "Mr. Allen" demanding that I call immediately regarding a file that was left in his office. I did in fact have a pay-day loan and I live in Salt Lake City, UT. Whatever you do, don't move to this state, because they can in fact garnish your pay here unless you file bankruptcy. But that won't stop these bottom feeders, because they are trying to collect on a debt that was included in my bankruptcy, but it is several years old as well, so if you reside in Utah my best advice to you is to ignore these calls, the worst that could happen it can go against your credit rating (Thanks to George W. Bush) and the changes in the bankruptcy laws, because you might escape the debt through bankruptcy, but not the harassment.
