- 12x6 replies to Joeyjoey...when i went on the fed res,web-site it said from 2006-2009 there was 127 billion dollars in bounce checks so that is a three year period and that was from 2006-2009,it also said from 2002 -2005 it was 135 billion dollars in bounce checks as you see people are using less paper checks we dont have the figures yet for 2010 -2012 so we dont know how many checks were bounced yet.
now dont forget your 127 billion dollars also includes the intentionally fraud checks(which i already said yes they do belong in jail)...also included is when some one was charged for a nsf(an error by the bank) that is also on the 127 billion they dont subtract there mistake...also if you use your debit card and there wasnt enough money they hit you for a nsf fee...also if you have account where your suppose to keep 500.00 or more and your account goes below 500.00 you get hit with a nsf fee.
when you go to sears and present a paper check,,sears at that moment sears will electronically check for there funds before accepting the paper check,if there wasnt enough money you dont get your merchandise and you get hit with a nsf fee.
so the bottom line is out of 127 billion dollars half of them is for fraud..you cant collect on that..
you also cant collect on debit cards or paper checks that was use electronically checked,, you cant collect on that either consumer did not get merchandise but was also hit for nsf fees..
that is the majority of the 127 billion dollars and when you go on the fed res.web-site it shows you a graph from 2009 how the paper check is shrinking and the use of the debit card is increasing..one more thing the european banks are discussing of doing away with paper checks..so as you see your job will be useless in a few years,, right now your trying to collect on SOL checks in your run-down warehouse where you work
here is some good advice IDIOT..quit your useless job your only getting paid 7.00 an hour and your 15% commission is in the garbage(i bet people on unemployment make more money then you) and get a job with security that pays 10.00 an hour.

- Kyle replies to Allen| 2 repliesAllen, here's what you do. Next time they call, ask for their name, company name, mailing address, physical address and telephone number. If they provide it, then send them a Certified Cease and Desist/with signature requested letter instructing all calls from them and all subsidiaries and or associates to cease all telephone call to your number upon receipt of the letter. $5.40 cents at the USPS. This stops the harassing phone calls and leaves the mail system as an open and available path of communications should they actually be, although unlikely, a legitimate business. Then you have everything they do, IN WRITING.
If they refuse or say that they don't have to provide any information......They are indee a scammer. Legitimate collection firms don't do business that way. - Super Scam ManThe statue of limitation for writing a bad check is typically 2-3 years. Writing bad checks is against the law and you can be prosecuted for a felony if the check is not paid. A warrant will be issued for you if you fail to pay once you receive notice from the attorney generals office. The will finger print you and you will then have a record on file. The best thing to do is find out if the
statue of limitations has passed for the bad check. If it has then no collection agency can pursue charged. Visit www.fair-debt-collection.com for more information.

THE [removed:lang] thought he could come on here and post his lies to generate business but it didnt work,, myself and others came on here and proved that this [removed:lang] is a [removed:lang] and he isnt making any money and im very happy that his scam isnt working,now with all this info he will definitely not make any money..RIGHT [removed:lang] ..

HEY [removed:lang] get a job with security they pay 10.00 an hour and overtime and some companies assist with benefits - Gee| 1 replyI received a call today from this enterprise. The caller left a voicemail message, the first half of which was inaudible. I was able to make out the caller's name (Chris Hawkins), the telephone number for a return call, and a closing that indicated I would be referred for criminal prosecution. As a law-abiding citizen, I was intrigued by the message and returned the call. I calmly described to Mr. Hawkins the facts stated above. His reply was astonishing. He responded that I knew damn well the call was a wrong number, that I was "conveniently unable to hear the first part of the message," and that I needed to "get a life!" He promptly disconnected the call.
The truth is, my life is sufficiently good that I do not respond to voicemail messages when I am aware that a call originating from some "800 service" number is intended for someone else entirely. I was compelled by Mr. Hawkins' low-brow antics, however, to contact his supervisor. Unfortunately, there was little discernible difference between Mr. Hawkins' and the supervisor's level of discourse. Despite the supervisor's lofty position with this Mickey Mouse outfit, he was unable to grasp the purpose of my call. He advised me that his underlings are trained to be [***] with no regard to whom they are speaking. Sounds like a great business philosophy to me.- Caller: New Holland Investigations
- ClaimersSo I recieved a phone call on October 9th from an aquantance that I hardley spoke too in years and right after our discussion(the very second we hung up) I got another call from my ex-sister in-law stating the same message as my last aquantance. Message was that I had wrote a a fraudulent check and they needed to reach me to inform me that I did so and basically sharing information making me look horrible to all these people recieving calls from Chris Hawkins, stating they would report it to the DA and I would be arrested.
Chris Hawkins claimed he worked with New Hall Investigations and when I called he said I had wrote a check in 2005 and that New Hall Investigations needed to collect ASAP on behalf of a local restaurant. I then asked how much I owed and Chris stated $325.88, I was shocked!!! I then asked the amount of the check that was written and Chris stated $26.09. I could not believe it, I then said that I needed to look back on my paperwork and check because I left with good standings when I relocated and had to switch banks. Chris then said that they needed to collect ASAP or they would have me arrested. I said let me look and verify so that I could get the matter cleared. I could send or fax paperwork as soon as I found it, he refused and said "We won't take it, its gone too far." He continued "We will have you arrested, we know what you drive, and where you live!" Both were incorrect but I did own that vehicle and reside at the address stated previously. He started to get rude so I said "Do what you have to do."
I then hung up and found all of my deposit slips from the time stated and went on to the bank to get printouts of my account from 2005. I then rent to the restaurant owner to discuss issues and they stated the business had closed well over 3 years ago and they never made any claims. I decided to take it all to the local authorities, after the proper paperwork they called the above number and asked to talk to Chris Hawkins and they responded with whos calling? lol. They then left the officer on hold for about two minutes and thats when a guy by the name of Jack Simpson took the call. He stated a whole different time period then stated to me but still in 2005 and a different amount. He asked for a copy of the check to be sent and they refused, thats when the officer stated he would take it further LEGALLY and he gave him the check number and my account number from the bank. Jack said that it was not the restaurant pursuing it the bank was. The bank then had to let the authorities know that they thought this had to be a scam due to them handling their legal issues locally and never with collections.
The authorities contacted them again and notified them and they asked for a faxed copy and authorities refused due to personal information on the bank statements. Jack then stated to the officer why he's so into this case when he should be out giving tickets...lol. Authorities then advised them not to ever call me or my aquantances or they would pursue it further.
SCAMS!!! Omg,how do people get away with this..... I feel so sorry for the elderly and all who actually gets scared into paying!! I was almost a victim and I thought this novel might help someone else!!

- Rose| 3 repliesSame thing happened to me they called my cell, left me a message to call back because "someone" had opened up a checking account w/ my social and was writting bad checks. I, of course, freaked out, called back and was immedietly threatened with being arrested at my work since I was "stupid enough" to call from my work number. They said I wrote a worthless check 7 years ago to a business for 17.00 and they wanted me to pay 241.18 today by giving him my bank acct number so he could draft the money out of my acct. I asked for proof of the so called check which he refused to give stating that if he faxed me over a copy of the check I could sue him and say he had altered the check. Would not give me any business information about the company he works for. He said he had my date of birth and social but when I asked him to verify that information he refused, told me to get a life, pay my debts and that they would be sending the check to the DA's office and that i could expect to be arrested at my work. They also called my dad, asked for me and when he said I wasnt there they told him they were warning him that his dead beat daughter was being arrested. Im not even sure how they got his phone number. I dont know overall not the best way to start a Wednesday but I find it a little alarming that people may possibly give these jerks there acct number.

- M.H.A replies to deleted postThat's very interesting "Sheila" or "Joey" or whoever you're calling yourself at the moment, because the L.A. BBB shows Newhall as being NOT ACCREDITED! Start looking for a new career Joey, as a SHILL you really suck!
- yef replies to deleted postYou are a bold-faced liar. The BBB link is: http://www.la.bbb.org/business-reviews/Collec ... es-CA-100118372
and they currently have a "C" rating and are NOT BBB accredited. Their phone number listed on the BBB website is the same one as named on this thread, so this is the same company.
Also, since it seems that you cannot read, many of the posters did not write any bad checks, so why should they "cowboy up" and pay a debt that is not theirs? - BuddahConsumers across the country report that they're getting telephone calls from people trying to collect on loans the consumers never received or on loans they did receive but for amounts they do not owe. Others are receiving calls from people seeking to recover on loans consumers received but where the creditors never authorized the callers to collect for them. So what's the story?
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:
is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.
If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.
Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.>

I got a call from them and recognized the NSF check was mine and paid it.They are on the BBB site,so obviously it;s real.I doubt a scam could be on the BBB site at all.NCO and all the others that have contacted me are on the BBB as well and of course they are real also.The nature of this means they will always have people who think paying what they owe is for the rest of us and not them and will file frivolous complaints and posts.If in doubt contact someone in authority,don't rely on anon info from a bunch of jokers on here whose only career is avoiding paying what they owe. - Shill Alert replies to Ezequiel| 1 replyThe only thing that interferes with the credibility of the crowd-sourcing on this site is when it gets polluted by shills like you -- fortunately, your fake posts stand out like a sore thumb. If you had any real skills, even as a liar, you wouldn't have to scrape out a living by making shill posts on 800 notes!
But hey, keep it up, at least when you're spewing lies on the interwebs, your not trying to extort fake debt from another victim on the phone. - Ezequiel replies to Shill AlertAdmin Edit: "It's a FAKE comment!"

There was nothing fake about it,I called the bank and verified that the bank failed to pay the check for NSF.I guess someone like you will claim anything you owe is fake.That is why I can walk into any dealership in the USA and drive out with a new car after signing on the dotted line,and you are in your parents couch broke with no credirt to even be loaned a stick of bubble gum.Grow up. - ConcernedWe received a call from this number. Male stating his name is Chris Hawkins with Newhall Investigations. Like the others, he stated someone had written several bogus checks using our name and social security number. Very harsh/threatening tone. Threatened to call the authorities if we did not call back immediately. Then stated "I might not be able to talk when you call back". We researched and found their website (Newhall Associates) with curiously NO CONTACT INFORMATION, not even a state. We found this website, as well as several others, all reporting the same story, same threatening man, etc. We are filing a fraud police report on this at this time.
