I never signed for up for this. I get alert calls for a city in another state 300 miles away. 11 calls since December. I never lived there. Never signed up for any kind of phone alert for any city. If this happened to you, good luck. You can try getting your number removed here: http://ecnetwork.com/notification-opt-out/  (FYI, first I also called the city I get unwanted alerts for and the idiots didn't know how to "opt out." They only know how to sign people up. But I googled it and found the link myself. which I should have just done in the first place.)

Interesting.  People look things up because they want to know more or because they simply don't know.  Yet you knew everything there is to know about this phone number but looked it up anyway.  Now why would you do that?

This is a legitimate number. I was called with information about power outages in my town due to a very a heavy snow storm with many trees down. It stated that the town police station community room is open for those who need a warm place to stay and warned people to be aware of falling trees (a child was killed by one yesterday). It also gave a number to call if you were without power. You should answer these calls.

Emergency alert from our town as spoken by the police department's public information officer about the snow storm we are currently experiencing.  Completely legit.  Unfortunately, there's no proper "call type" for it so I had to categorize it as "event reminder."

This is a Code Red automated calling service - my small town uses it to pass automated alerts - in this case an overturned propane truck in a busy intersection in town and warning me to expect delays...

This number called my home phone. ECN Community was what my caller id displayed. I didn't answer because I didn't know what that is. So, I Googled the number and found all of these comments about it being a code red emergency calling service. One person mentioned in their comment that you can call the number and hear what the emergency message is. If you don't call the number using the phone that received the call, then it gives you the option to put in the number that the call was made to. I called it back on my cell and put my home number in and the message was for customers of the water company letting them know that they needed to boil their water or use bottled water until further notice because there was a water line that busted or something like that. I have well water so the message didn't apply to me. It is a legitimate code red calling service because my kids got out of school early today because of this problem with the water. It affected the water in at least 2 schools in the district. So, not a scam!

This is a code red call.  You have to sign up for them, so if you're getting them...you asked for it.

Red alert for our area about mail theft.  This one is true.  I verified with the county sheriff.

This is Palm Bay, FL. Usually these calls are for local alerts, mostly safety matters, sometimes code red.. But this one was for advertising (a whole minute) the Friday FREE community "party in the park" outdoor event. This is a very small town. Yes, this phone number and caller ID should be used for emergency broadcasting only, I believe.

I did not answer because of all the weird calls I get.  However, this is legit.  They left a message - investigation of a homicide which may involve the robberies in my area.  Warning to lock doors on both house and cars and to report any suspicious behavior.

To me, this caller is a terrorist invading my home: CODERED INFO 8559694636 as it shows on my caller ID device. It's a junk call from a toll free trunk line. It's junk from a trunk. It is a painfully intrusive form of harrassment. That robo-caller  repeatedly called me at 2am this morning and has randomly called me daytime for months. When answered, they disconnect. They always disconnect. Sometimes there are a few syllables of some unintelligible message spoken by some electronic voice just before they disconnect.  The AT&T Blocking service I pay for won't allow us to block these 8xx trunk numbers. I'm sure the phone company makes money from toll-free trunks so they seem to tend toward protecting these low-lifes and we customers are left to suffer as victims.
