- rodent replies to LINDA ROBINSON| 4 repliesWhat sort of genius carries (much less ANSWERS) a cell phone in an emergency surgery environment? I hope to God I'M never in your OR for a life saving procedure.... I'd probably dies while you answered your stupid phone. LOL
- Kathy IppolitoWhy dont someone leave message from this number?
- Gloria Kouf replies to LINDA ROBINSON| 6 repliesLinda, this number belongs to the people in your city that call you to alert you to what is going on in you area of the city. Such as Local meeting, Storm Warnings, Special elections, Sex Offenders moving in next door. You had to have signed up for it. Better take your name off the list so you don't get calls while you are in such a position again or turnoff your phone,.
- GJK replies to AngIt's a computer caller. Computer can't leave messages unless it is set to do so. When you have to call a list of people all at once, a human can not do that.
- GJK replies to tiaECN Community stands for Emergency Call Network. don't know where you got your information.
- GJK replies to PrivacyseekerYou have to call your community leader's office and ask to have your number removed from the call list. You may not remember doing it but you had to sign up for the service to get the calls. Call City Hall.
- PaulThis is a service commonly referred to as Reverse 911. It is used to quickly get emergency messages out to the community (in the event of wildfires, chemical spills, evacuations, and other emergencies where it is imperative to get the word out quickly to as many people as possible). I just came to this site because I just received a call from this number, and before I checked my message and found out that they were announcing a missing child in my neighborhood. Why the caller ID does not say who the call comes from, I don't know, but for those of you disparaging this service, I certainly hope it is never your child that disappears or your neighborhood that has a major emergency situation. As for the doctor complaining about getting calls in the OR, turn off the stupid phone while you are doing "emergency surgery". Now that I know what the call was about, I'm glad I got the message, even though I did get it at 10 p.m.

- SimplyMeIt's a Code Red alert. Just got a call that they were searching for an escaped convict. I like that they do this.
- Sharene ChappellCalled at 11:52 pm 5/18 and woke everyone in the household up. Called again at 12:01 am 5/19 with the same message. Very irritated that they are calling households so late at night.
- Caller: Code Red
- Hobo From ClambodiaThis was a call about a road closure from a collapsed culvert and pending construction schedule.

- MDear ECN Community:
I didn't sign up to receive your calls. I don't need your services, and your calls annoy me. I am perfectly capable of sticking my head out the door and seeing that it's hot, or that it's raining; I have the means to deal with sex offenders, and for any criminals you may be hunting; I can probably figure out that there's an issue with the water when I turn on the faucet and I don't have any; and the list goes on.
I really can't think of a good reason for you to bother me. If others choose to accept your calls, or don't have the skills I do to check the weather and/or take care of themselves, then let them accept your calls and be grateful. I, for one, don't appreciate a nanny state. So it'd be appreciated if you'd handle my request to be removed from your call list as soon as possible.
Thanks.
Sincerely,
People Who Enjoy Thinking For Themselves- Caller: ECN Community
- scott replies to LINDA ROBINSONWhy did you have you cell phone on in emergency surgery LINDA ROBINSON now that is stupid.
- Alta| 1 replyIf this is an emergency reporting service and you have to sign up for it why are they calling people who haven't signed up for it? It feels to my gut like a scam. Did your local news report any of the emergencies that you were warned about?
- Caller: ECN Community
- JonnaECN COMMUNITY ... It's a standard nationwide number ... it's for all over the country, but they only give you the important information relevant to your area/town.
As far as I know, it's legitimate.
They called here tonight at 9:30pm to tell us there was a major water-main break and to boil all water before drinking it and also as a result they had to impose water restrictions due to the water-main break ... not b/c of a drought.
A few months ago they also called to inform all local residents there would be early evening flash-floods due to a bad storm coming in and to avoid driving in those areas and surrounding area ... and there were a few major road floods and later road closures that night.
So, I kind of appreciate the heads-up.- Caller: 855-969-4636
- Jonna replies to AltaMost 800# calls are telemarketers or debt-collectors looking for someone or a scamming con-artist.
But, read my post.
I live just outside of NYC and if you read my post ... ECN is not a scam.
If you call the number back, a recording comes on that tells you what they were calling about.
I think it's a good service to have.
