Just left her name, a file number and contact number-no verifiable information as to why she was calling.

They also called here and left the same.  This is some New Jersey collection agency.  
I think I will call them right back up......NOT

Called with changed voice.
Asked for me with background (beep).
I said you go the wrong number.
He said Ok Thanks (Beep)
Then hanged up

This guy Cris calls on my cell phone. He threatens to take legal action if I don't pay them some imaginary amount. I don't who this person is , or how he got my #. When I questioned him, he told me to send him a fax dispute or a FACT dispute,THEN DEMANDED ,"ON HIS DESK FIRST THING MONDAY MORNING OR ELSE !" I contacted my so called debtor about this , they have no information about this company. They advised me to investigate in case of fraud...by the way the fax # this guy Cris gave me before he suddenly hung up on me, was 856 566 536 aren't there 10#s in a phone #?

They keep calling my cell most of the time i answer and hang the phone up immediately but the three times i haven't answered they have left messages with a case number what a bunch of BS. Yeah I'm gonna call ya right back.....NOT If this was legit I would have received something in the mail by now they suck!

This company keeps calling me. The call i get is an aswering machine that states my name and that if i picked up I have acknowledge it is me. Except that it is my voicemail that picks up not me. My husband called the number back and they said i owed this money and they are a debt collector. I did at one point owe the money but it was settled years ago (2002), they wanted proof of this. They kept calling and leaving nasty messages on my voicemail and I finally got so pissed off at the whole thing I called back and left a nasty message on thier voicemail to stop calling me and if they really looked at my credit they would know that this account was settled and closed. Since I left that message (about a week ago) they have not called back. I never provided any information about myself since I don't give taht type of information and if they really were who they say they are they would have all the information. Be wary about this company they are scammers.

I received a voice mail at my company from a Michael Johnson saying it's important for me to call back, and left me the case file.  I called back first to 800-735-0552 that he left in the voice mail but did not get through.  From the caller ID, it shows the voice mail was from 856-925-1000 so I tried to call this number, and asked the receptionist what the company is about.  She said they are SRA Associates, collecting agency.  When I finally got hold of Michael Johnson, and gave his case number, he asked if I am "xxx xxx", but that is not my name.  I asked how he could leave message to my company's voicemail and how he got my number, then he asked if my telephone number was xxxxx which was totally irrelevant. I realized it was a spam, and did not give him my name or anything else.  Jsut told him that he got wrong information and hang him up.   I searched on line for 856-925-1000 and found this forum, and it seems that many people have been spamed by this company.  

If you don't have any debt, or never late pay for any credit card or whatever, don't worry about it and just ingore them, and never give your name or any information to them.  They are just [***].

These folks called my husband to tell them about a debt.  I did have a car repo'd in 98, hadn't made a payment since 95.  Sounded like a close amount, but legally they can't collect after 7 years NC statue of limitations.  However, after readinging this forum it could have been a scam.  They claimed that I made a payment in 2000, which is total BS.  I haven't paid since 95.  My husband freaked out until we checked my credit report and there's nothing on there.

you are right they can not collect after 7 years in nc . I cosigned with my son in '98 and they repoed . Had my attorney check this out.

They called my moms house looking for my ex who does not even KNOW my parents number and we havent been together for almost 8 years now! Stupid stupid stupid. My mom told them they have the wrong number. How ridiculous that they just FISH around HOPING to find someone. Heck..go to the local DMV..get free address lookup in the whitepages and send them a letter instead of calling every tom dick and harry!

Received 6 calls with called ID of 856-925-1000 starting on 2/27/08, with the last one being today.  Each time they call it is an automated recording left on my voice mail asking me to call 800-796-1476 regarding a "business matter".

There were several different recordings with different voices, they identify themselves as follows:

Carmen Cruz (1 time)
Becky McCann (3 times)
Michael Steinberg (1 time)
Lindsey Baker (1 times)

Note that the voice of the person identifying themselves as "Lindsey Baker" sounds the same as the person identifying themselves as "Becky McCann".

I found that the 856-925-1000 number is associated with "Quality Asset Recovery" http://www.qarcollect.com/ which is a collection agency.

I have no debts so I have no idea why I am getting these vague automated calls.

UPDATE:

I finally called these people back today and they gave me the name of the person they were looking for.  I had never heard of this person before, and I told them so.  They said they would remove my number from their records and that I should never get a call about this matter again.  We will see...

They've been calling me for months. I've never answered and never will, it's a thin scam setup.  You can see right through it.  Just don't answer.  That's the answer.

This is just one of several collection agencies calls I've been getting, people who are looking for my ex-husband whom I divorced 10 years ago, or at least they think it is my ex-husband.

I get these calls because when they do a search online and which anyone can do by paying $14.95 for 24 hours, you get names of individuals who have been married, are related, or have lived at the same address as the individual being tracked down.  Unable to contact the real individual, these people start fishing, contacting all of these "associated" people.  

These companies are legit as a collection agencies, but they're methods are horrible.  I never answer the phone and screen the calls with Caller I.D.  I got the same nasty message that if I didn't hang up in 3 seconds then I was agreeing that I was Mr. X, yet it was my answering machine he was talking to!  I picked up the phone, told him I wasn't Mr. X, wasn't related to Mr. X, and didn't know anything about Mr. X, which I don't, though I do know where he lives, but phoneman wasn't asking that question.

Another time, I was so irritated being called several times a day, as early as 6 a.m. and 1 a.m. that I called that particular number back and started asking them questions.  Again, a legit collection agency believing the same Mr. X lived here.  Telling them who I was, not related, didn't know anything, they stopped bothering me.

Go ahead, be aggressive, call them back.  Unfortunately, we're not able to remove our names from these basic search reports, so if you have/had a bad association with a debtor, you'll continue to get calls but from someone else.  <sigh>

I just received a call from this company today.  This is the second collection agency that has called my cell phone, which is interesting since I just was assigned this phone number less than a month ago.  It would be nice to simply ignore these calls, but I don't want to waste my mins getting voice mails from them.  Called them back and told them to remove my phone number... lets see how that goes-

I bought a Person-To-Person machine.  This machine connects to my telephone, it allows you to block phone calls. I blocked 856-925-1000.  They then called me on 856-925-1500.  It seems that they have several lines, so I blocked all 856 area code numbers.  This worked like a charm.  No more SRA.

As I was really annoyed, I wanted a little payback.  I Googled SRA and got their Toll Free number 800-735-0552.  I played with their automated menu system, and finally got to leave a message.  As soon as I got the beep I pressed "2" twice, this took me back to the main menu and then took me back to the voice asking me to leave another message.  I waited for the beep and then pressed "2" twice.  I left about 1000 messages on their voice mail.

This wasn't enough for me so I sent several obscene emails to Jack@sraassociates.com.  I received an angry phone call from "Jack".  He was screaming at, and cursing me.  He threatened to kick my a** if I didn't stop.  As I am a very large man, I invited him to try, I even gave him my address.  I never heard from him

Payback is sweet indeed.
