    Information on how to proceed
Just got off the phone with my Cell company. They have recomm'ed this to me and anyone else having the same issue?  make sure you "are" on the donotcall.gov  list wait 30 days and after 30 days if that person calls you again you can in fact proceed with legal action since they are in fact in the U.S. border making these harassment calls. but you have to wait till 3o days kick in. I'm already making the call to my local law enforcment agency and I suggest you do the same.

Yeah, just got one missed call tonight. They're telemarketers from the Philippines. They seem to pass around your number from one company to another. Im registered at do not call list myself. I used to received at least 2 calls/day, sometimes at 12am or early morning. I told them that it's illegal but they keep coming, can't do anything but to raise my voice all the time. It's very annoying. I also used to received calls from filifino t-mobile retailers, they're selling phone plans. These guys needs to be shutdown. If ever you received a call, ask their name, company, location, and call back number. This way we can stop them. --fr: a not so proud Filipino

Keep getting phone calls all hours also. One time I asked to speak to supervisor and was told "NO". I politely asked again he said "NO" and hung up on me. The most recent was I tried to speak to a supervisor and then when she did get on the phone started talking phone sex! I told them numerous times not to call and remove me from list. Since it is originating in Philippines can we do anything about it here? Could it be that they might be using MagicJack to make these phone calls?

People, don't you have caller ID on your phone lines? Just don't answer the call or hit the "ignore" button on your cell. They will get the idea and eventually you will drop off the call list. Really, your making this more difficult than it needs to be.

I've received calls from this number several times a week.   Everytime I do answer they are looking for the same philipino lady and when I say "she doesn't live here, you have the wrong number" they insist and insist in having me give them my name so that I may be addressed properly."  At this point, I tell them it is none of their business, and that they must stop calling.  A couple of days go by, and story repeats itself.. .  These calls are so annoying.  I am registered with the no call list, yet I don't know where this calls are originating and or what the purpose of these calls might be.

They call seasonally.  They will try as much as 2 to 4 times a day for a week ...then will stop.
Very annoying indeed!  I'll just keep on ignoring them.

Before assuming the rest of us are too stupid to use Caller ID, send me your number & I'll give it to them to give you a call.

The Filipino woman with the extremely unintelligible accent has been calling for over two years on my landline.  What good is Caller ID if the phone calls keep coming in during meals, any hour of day?  No, they don't leave a message but the phone rings anyway.  Do you have an answer for that problem?

Yea this caller just called my house at 11pm when most of my family is asleep. I said that I would not like to buy a phone card but she kept hassling me to buy one and that she would call back tomorrow. I was fearing that someone in my household would fall into this scam, so I took the following actions.

    1) Filed a complaint on the National Do Not Call Registry, since they have a base in California hopefully criminal charges will be put on them.

    2) Since I have AT&T U-Verse, I logged on to my dad's account online and did the following. When to "My Services" under "My Account", clicked on "More Features" under "Quick Settings", turned call blocking ON, typed in the number and saved it. Hopefully this will solve my issue. If you do not have U-verse i would strongly advise you to call your phone company ad have this number blocked.

If they somehow continue to call, report the number to your local authorities, call the FTC/National Do Not Call Registry and tell them that you have already have filed a complaint.

    I hope this helps.

They called last again, last night at around 9:52pm PST.  Same thing.  My mom is the one that answered demanding them to stop calling, but they still insisted on selling us phone services. They are from the Philippines, and I think they are using some type of "Magic Jack" type of system.  Stupid people didn't even care/listen to the warning about not calling again, and responded, "But we have a great deal....."  "Yes, but we have a promotion..." after my mom was yelling.  They have been calling consistantly for the past year.  Very disturbed.

They called me 4x eventhough i already told them not to call. The first 3 calls i was still polite but  on the fourth call when i told them that iam not interested, the guy was so sarcastic and told me"M'AM IF YOU DONT WANT US TO CALL YOU, HAVE YOUR PHONE DISCONNECTED!" Iam filipina so i recognized their accent right away. From: a not so proud pinay.

I totally agree with you except for the phrase "THE FILIPINO WOMAN WITH THE EXTREMELY UNINTELLIGIBLE ACCENT". I thought that was offensive that you  have to criticize an international accent which by the way is unique with every country. Iam a filipina too. Lets just concentrate on this telemarketers bugging us and not somebody elses racial background. and FYI too, we have thousands of dialect in the Philippines and depending where one originated from, basically we can identify which part of the country they came from. PEACE :D

This telemarketing company called me 20 times yesterday on my cell phone. Started at 7am in the morning.  After about the 5th call I answered and could barely understand them. I asked them not to call and told them I am on the National Do Not Call list.  Did not help.   In fact the calls came more frequently. .  They called me this morning at 6:30 am.  Called my cell phone company and asked them what I could do.  They told me to file a complaint on the donotcall.gov website.  I did that just a few minutes ago.  Do not think it will help unless enough of us do it so they can see the pattern. Then hopefully they will take action.  Had my wife talk to them on one of the calls this morning as she is from the Philippines and can speak to and understand them.  She asked them to stop calling also.  She asked what the name of the company is and they told her New Era Telecom and the girls name was Jeralyn.  They would not give her a number to call back.  We were previous customers of Owetel and I believe that is how they got our phone numbers.  Have not used Owetel for several months and will be calling them tomorrow to ask them to remove our numbers from their system and not to ever call or share out information again.  I do not care if these companies come up with the best international calling plan in the world!  They will never get any of our business.  NEVER!
