- roseWon't stop calling day and night
- LarryThey called called on my sons line and thought the call was live but what they got was his voice mail, so they did leave a message, but again they thought they were talking to a person. Morons.
- john replies to Ralph| 1 replyI must inform you debt collector that not everyone in this country is insane.
The so called hippa "laws" are nothing more than just that a joke.
Doctors nurses and anyone else in these jobs talk about anyone they want whenever they want but I feel you already know this.
All debt collectors want a person to verify their personal information because that is a step in their attempt to collect the so called debt.
My advice to those that get calls from these slime would be do not talk to them and do not sign the power of attorney form they may send you in the mail. - DavidThey call and do not leave a message, so no return call... In this day and age, I don't complain about things, I just call block numbers like that. Solves the repeated call backs. I already have anonymous call rejection. This really cuts down on the bad phone calls. And calling and hanging up, even if your computer does it, is still harassment.
What Bullard is saying has a bit of truth to it and I can tell you that because of the portion that you have to pay - they (hospitals and bill collectors) are going beyond just repeatedly calling you and sending you letters. They are now suing. I had one threaten to charge 10.5% interest daily until I pad... Good luck with that kinda against the law. And then they lied and said they billed my insurance company and that was my portion of the bill. Turns out they didn't bill my insurance company. I knew I couldn't have owed that much money since my co-pay is only $25 and I paid that when I got to the ER. This was the Doctor trying to not take the contractual hit for services. Hey - He signed the deal with my insurance company, not me.
When I do get these calls that I think are a scam, I ask who the client is. Then I hang-up and call their client back and I look up the number myself. I can't do this for this "caller", because they call when I am not around to answer the phone and won't leave a message. EVERY debt collector call I have gotten has been for a bad debt on their part. I have always proved that I don't owe the money, so pardon me if this ticks me off.
To the debt collectors out there, my time is valuable too. Having your computer call me and then making me wait for you to answer the phone doesn't cut it. Making me do all of your work for you doesn't either. Which is why I make you send my copies of the bill and the permission to treat and bill form. You want to talk to me, be on the phone when I answer. If you get an answering machine, how about leaving a message that makes sense. Like this is "John" from XYZ concerning a bill, please call me at XXX.... No HIPAA laws broken there, you haven't mention anything about a medical condition or even the fact that you are calling about a medical bill. In fact every time I fill out a doctor or hospital form I say that they are welcome to leave health information on the phone numbers I provide. The scammers of the world have made your job really difficult and you aren't making it any easier on yourself. - BrookeSCAM! Caller with heavy middle eastern accent asked for my social security number. I refused and he hung up. They call each day around the same time. I answered today and asked who they were representing. The person had to put me on hold to ask what to say. They stated that that were "THE DOCTORS OFFICE" and needed my SSN. I gave a false SSN to the caller to see what they would say. He asked my name. I asked why they called me, if they didn't know who I was. He just kept saying "NAME PLEASE MADAM". I said "JANE DOE". He put me back on hold and never came back to the call.

- Find Out What They Want & Then Hang Up_D replies to BONNIE BULLARDYou said that they said they will call back when you are more "CORPORATIVE" ...lol.
Actually the caller is correct. Since it is a medical bill, per HIPAA rules and regulations they have to verify that they are speaking to the same person who has the medical bill. - WRONG NUMBERI keep getting these calls also.No messages no nothing. A friend told me to tell them they are trying to reach a previous owner of the number and they have to remove it from there system. You don't have to give them any information about yourself. They might as well leave a message saying. "Hi I'm jock from strap and I want to screw you ".

- john replies to INFORMATION| 1 replyWhen you visit lewisgale hospital Salem which is owned by hca within a week of the so called service you get a letter with parallon in Richmond va as a return address.
When you open the letter it had Lewis-gale medical center with a Richmond va address in the top left corner.
Then it asks that you call something called advanced patient advocacy which also has a Richmond va address.
Then the letter is signed financial counselor Lewis-gale medical center.
Sounds to me like all these so called groups are nothing more than debt collectors and maybe all owned by the same group.
All designed to try and keep the customer confused and not knowing what is going on. - john replies to johnJust a collection of debt collectors hiding behind many different names and fancy language simply put.
