I get about 10 calls today from this number, everytime I pick up the phone, it hangs up!

I am NOT happy with that! so I call this "866" number back, guess what, it says, this is a Long distance call, the long distance rate applies; without know what kind of rate it is, I hang up.  (some of the bait phone call you, and when you call back, their charge like 10 dollars per minutes for the call)

Some more checking on the net, find it is a telemarketing company called ATELKA doing the promo for FIDO.

I check the internet again, 866 IS a toll free number, but without taking any chances, I call this number from a Public phone then you will find out how to remove your phone number from it!

So, if you are annoying with this number calling you, call this number back from a public phone, it will cost about $1 for them, but cost you nothing!

REMEMBER:  CALL IT FROM THE PUBLIC PHONE!

    Did calling Atelka work?
Or should I call the 866 number back?

    Hey guys I'm back!
I *just* called the company back, and I think it worked.
Pressed '2' to continue in English,
'1', entered my number, '1' again, then '2' to end the call.
    Let's pray that it worked.
    ;D

I am amazed to find this site as I finally decided to google the number, too.  It is VERY annoying and I get called once or twice a day by them.  I am going to send an e-mail to FIDO and tell them to stop this immediately.  If that doesn't work, I will call and talk to them.  I hate calling FIDO because often you have to wait so long to get a person and have to talk to that horrible computer voice first who always says "I'm sorry, I didn't get that..."  Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!  Looking at the site for CRTC, I see that a "Do Not Call" Registry is coming in September so hopefully this will help reduce these calls.  I will revisit this site to see what people have found.  Thanks!

Roger owns Fido, it doesn't care whether or not you switch from one to the other.

Ya this company is a third party that many big companies hire(bell, rogers and videotron). They have training regarding only specifically that campaign. When they called they were actually really nice. The phone call was to inform be about the Rogers change to cable phone. The call took less than 10 minutes and i got 10$ off my phone bill for one year(current promotion)

I've been getting calls from this number also; but so far only once a day and it's always been during work so I only see it through my missed calls at the end of the day. So I decided to call back and it says it's some Atelka company. No clue what that was, so I decided to google up that number. Wow I had no idea so many ppl have been getting billions of calls from this number!

I was receiving this 2-3 times a day on my mobile (yes, I use fido prepaid service) above one month. I decided to fix the stupid scam calls today. Then I called fido service with number 1-888-481-3436. I asked them whether phone number 866-301-5302 belongs to fido company. The service representative checked and said yes. It belongs to marketing department of Fido. Then he removed my phone number from Fido's calling list.
I asked him why Fido have been doing this stupid thing to call me everyday. Why Fido did not tell me that it will add my phone number in their calling list? I complained that these kind of calls made me unhappy. The representative said that I can do anything including coming into court.
Fido, a so-called big and good reputation company, have been doing this kind of garbage calls to their customers. I decided not to use Fido anymore.

I received some calls from that number to.
I got Fido as my provider, but got free incomming phonecall service, so i don't get to lose my time. And I never was able to catch the call as i am always working while receiving it.

It's damn annoying, so made a group for that number and put up a silence ring. Although i hate seeing the list of missed call when i finish working.

Anyone know if we could collectively sue for them always disturbing in ours life? That and for people who lose paid minutes, although i'm not in that group personnally but lot's of you seem's.

For those who think these calls are unethical and annoying. Do this.

Everytime you go online, use Skype (if you don't have it, download it for free), and call 866-301-5302 for FREE. Call this number as often as possible using Skype and don't hang up until you need to. The best to call is from 9am-9pm local time on weekdays. I think this will at least overload their system and have them experience the frustration of pay-as-you-go FIDO customers.

Do it ASAP, 'cause once people start calling them and don't hang up, sooner or later, they will change their system so that when the caller doesn't input anything (Skype incapability) within a preset time, the call would be disconnected automatically. You have then to call again. For now, the system just keeping asking the caller to input an option.

It's Atelco calling on behalf of Fido. Call them back and their automated service will supposedly remove your phone number from their call-up list.
