I recieved a call from this number. I was busy working on my computer at the time and did not answer. I have learned not to bother with numbers that I do not know or recognize. This saves me time and less frustration.

I wondered about this as well.  They use strongarm tactics.  I gave them a check last year but have been holding off to see what I could find on the internet.  I have found nothing.  Has this been reported to the authorities?  I definately will not send them anything again and will hang up on them when they call.

I get the same thing.  I always worry it could be someone who thinks we're not home.

Got a phone call this morning from 866-311-7847.

She says she's calling on breast cancer research and can she count on me for a donation, mail me the whatever.

I say, "Well, I can't make a donation right now, I had breast cancer this year, but I'd be interested in getting the information in case I can donate in the future."

She says (and I quote): "Are you a survivor?"

I should have answered, no, I'm dead. Can't you tell?? Again, I said, yes, can you send me information on your organization in case I'm able to donate in the future.

Her: "Well, we can't send you the information unless we can count on your  donation."

So that was the end of it. Ironic, isn't it? It's for breast cancer and she treats me, someone who is still recovering, like that?

Wow, those folks over there are top notch. Don't send them your money. Send it to people who actually care.

Received two calls from the number today.  First was trying to sell me home security system and when I answered the 2d call, no one was on the other end. My wife said they called 3 times yesterday also.

Just called me (during the AFC Championship game!) and said he was collecting for Breast Cancer.  I told him I thought Breast Cancer was doing a bit too well for me to contribute and it didn't phase him...just kept on with his spiel.  Asked when it would be OK to send along a pkg. and I told him anytime he wanted would be fine with me.   Thanked me and hung up.

God Bless anyone who has been afflicted with this disease;  you're in my prayers.  (and I doubt God skims 80% off the top for His own use)

No message on machine. The address associated with the number, 10506 E. Obispo, Mesa, AZ is a single family dwelling in a single family neighborhood.

called and said collecting for Breast Cancer Society, asked for name not me, said collecting for charity and needed address for pledge card, started giving fake one and said is that in Houston but I am not, so knew for sure then something not right, then put manager on phone to verify pledge and verified false address.  About 10 minutes later got a call from another number - 877-208-5898 and didn't pick up, hung up with no message and google search on it confirmed again a scam number.

100% TRUE ITS A COLLECTION AGENCY PHISHING FOR A NAME AND ADDRESS OF THE PERSON AT YOUR TELEPHONE NUMBER, BECAUSE THEY DONT HAVE THIS INFO THEY HAVE TO AVERT TO THESE UNLAWFUL TACTICS.

THIS SO CALLED ATTORNEY POSTING HERE IS FULL OF IT AND OBVIOUSLY POSTING THESE POST ON BEHALF OF THE COLLECTION AGENCY WE ARE SPEAKING ABOUT, WHICH HIDES BEHIND THE BREAST CANCER SOCIETY IT CLAIMS TOO BE.  THEY HIDE BECAUSE IF WE HAD THEIR NAME AD ADDRESS, YOU CAN SEND THEM A CERTIFIED LETTER ASKING THEM TO STOP, AND THEY MUST STOP.

This is a legit organization-the telephone solicitation you are getting is from a paid professional fund-raising company hired the same way the Amercian Cancer Society uses telemarking and other volunteers during fund raising events.  The main organization is located in Mesa, AZ (480)284-4014 and they are happy to send free financial reports to anyone that requests them. I have seen the list of states they are approved for and have found financial documents from them on file with the couple of Sec. of State-listing of charitable organizations on file to do business (WA, AZ, CA, etc. the list is long...)

The telemarketing process or individuals you interacted with may have been less than optimum but the agency is legit and confers access to medical services and personal care supplies (wigs, implants, etc.) for cancer patients.

I don't pick up and they never leave a msg. It's a familiar number now...they call enuff.

Calling me again. Tried to tell this woman I wanted to be off their list, but she hung up on me WHILE I WAS TALKING.

Very nice people there. They open up with a "we appreciate your generosity and how wonderful you are!" and as soon as it's clear you're not giving anything more they switch over to [***] mode.

I don't answer numbers that I don't recognize...haae encountered this number before.

Called for the first time. No message. These calls just do not ever stop, do they?

Just received a call. When I answered they hungup...called them back and left them a message to remove me from their calling list or I will report them to the FTC.

i have been receiving several calls a day from 866-311-7847.  there is never anyone on the other end.  this is becoming very irritating...

This is a fraudulent charitable solitation.  Asked for donation by credit card but said that they can not send any mail information until the have my donation. Call and report to the FCC, even if you are on the DNC list. Below is the www.fcc.gov complaint site.

Call displaying 866-311-7847 [800 Service]. (which is a dishonest way of disguising who is calling)

Caller asked for donation on behalf of "Breast Cancer Awareness". Told her that she should direct such request to our government, who collects abundant funds from taxpayers to distribute to grotesquely incompetent bank executives so that they can continue receiving obscene salaries (and bonuses), now about to be capped at $500,000.

If our governnment were not wasting so much taxpayers' money in wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and investing in the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in general, the health of all americans would improve and be at the level of other countries.

Don't know who they are.
