Just to be clear - and since "Chris" from Vandell Communication is making a threat about lawsuits, Let me be very clear - this is in fact a SCAM and is being investigated by several agencies including the KC BBB and Attorney General.

I have yet to hear anyone actually say, yes, I actually filled out a form and was expecting a call.  These folks are violating FCC laws and are practicing deceptive marketing.

The best thing you can do is file a complaint with your local Better Business Bureau, FCC.gov, and your state Attorney General's office.

I suspect that the only lawsuits that are in process are those against Vandell Communications regarding their violation of the Do Not Call registry.

A- sounds impressive until you take the time to learn how BBB ratings work.  In fact, this company has seven complaints on file just with the Chicago BBB alone.  Who knows how many with other BBB branches.  The BBB shows complaints as "resolved" if one of two things happen:  the complaining customer informs BBB that the company resolved the complaint to their satisfaction; or the Company informs BBB that they (the company) made an effort to resolve the complaint but the customer failed to respond.  Apparently, five of the seven complaints to the Chicago BBB were resolved the second way.  The fallacy of this system is that the company could (not saying they did, just that they could) forge their "resolution" and lie about the customer failing to respond.

Here is the email we got, after first getting the phone call that we "won". Our appointment is today. We're going, for kicks. I fully expect to be subjected to high sales pressure tactic and walk out with nothing, but curious to see what happens in their office. Besides, it's a Saturday and we plan to spend the day at the Gurnee Outlet shops, so not a wasted trip in any event. If there's anything of interest we learn from our visit with them, I'll post back here later.
