They get names from a third party broker.  When they call you, they don't even know your name.  Don't you think that if you filled out an entry for a contest that they would know your name?

Got this also from a Christopher. So glad you have all posted here. My kids enter contests a lot at the grocery stores or sporting events so I really had no clue. Checked here on a hunch... I live in Chicago so I guess this scam is nation wide? Anyway, thank you all for the heads up!

Funny that people blog but always seem to add more than the truth.  I have read several entries that list scam. Most of them say scam because the previuos blogged called them a scam. If you realyy listed to the message left it would be clear to what you are being told. Also when you call back you are explained why you are receiving the gifts as well as sent the information in writng. This is a promo nothing more nothing less.  NO scam or crime or dont not call violation. If you complete a entry to be contacted you may get contacted.

Most of what you stated is correct.  Mitchell Communication Group, LLC name was trademarked by another company in the state of AR so we have changed the name.  The company is a marketing company for over 40 comapanies and most recent Visa. However the letter was sent to you to support the claim of what you where getting. There is not scam and the call was made on behalf of World Class Travel which your where told that we where calling on their behalf. I guess I just dont see what the scam is.

That is some of the places the entry forms are placed. We also have had booths the auto show. There is no scam. Im sorry if you dont understand the differnce in adveertising and scamming.

some one named Christopher called to say we had a new car, then changed and said we won appliances on an entry we had filled out 12 - 18 months ago.  The number left of caller ID was 708.248.7502 but he left a number of 866.312.9553 ext 109 to return the call.

I DID NOT enter any contest.  If I did enter a contest, don't you find it strange that they do not know my name when they called to tell me I had "won" a prize?

I couldn't understand the name of the company, but it read "Mitchell Communications" on my caller ID (the number it called from was actually 708-801-9951, but this was the number I was supposed to call back to).  It was a recording, left on my answering machine, from "Christopher" and was exactly like the ones on here.

I filed with both the federal and state do-not-call complaint centers.

I'm entitle to leave me opinion just as your are.  Did you call back to see what the call was about. More important if you and the others did not complete anything if you where so smart you at least would be trying to find out how they got your information or if someone is using your information so who is the idiot. I will not result into name calling you can do what you think is best for you but to call others on this site an idiot is really not called for. Most of the comments are simply stating they got the call no one has clearified what the scam is. They are only saying its a scam because they where called and others have said its a scam. In fact I have contacted the BBB and this company has an A- rating.

I had a phone call message today from 1-708-248-7092 (caller ID showed Prize Crd Srvc).  The message was almost identical as the prior posts:  (I will not call back.)

"Hi this is Christopher calling from Mondale Communications, I've made numerous
attempts to reach you (we got only one call) regarding an entry form that was filled out in your name
in the last 12-18 months to win a new car. This will be my final attempt to notify
that your name was pulled as a winner and we are going to award you one of our top
four major prizes.It will be in your best interest to give me a call back as soon
as possible. My number is toll free at 1-866-312-9553, ext. 109. We're not a
telemarketing agency or timeshare; this is not a cold call so please do not ignore
this message. I am very aware of the do not call list so I wouldn't be calling
unless you actually entered. This is a time sensitive matter, I do look forward
to hearing from you."

i did not fill out anything and we have not done so in 18 years since we almost fell prey to a scam like this. you have absolutely the same right as us to leave an oppinion but this does have all the clues of a scam.sorry concern but once bitten twice shy (and this is not the only site that has reported this number or extension)

11/22.2010. received call from Christopher that was among the 4 persons to win a car!

Thanks for posting the details! I received the same call from Christopher x109 and tried to call back but no one was available to answer the call so I hung up.  Thanks for saving me the trouble!

Christopher & Sean - do us all a favor and explain what the deal is.  If this ISN'T a SCAM, then why not post on this blog what the real catch is?  Full disclosure - all details.
