- anonymous replies to ChrisThis is your best reply so far.
- anonymous replies to ChrisH. Poage states "I have not entered any contest regarding winning a car" and I conjecture he won't believe "It is possible someone may have completed the form on your behalf or you do not remember."
- anonymous replies to JohnI wish I understood what "attending an awarding, celebrating, and presentation" meant.
- anonymous replies to regina whiteNo, no, you're mistaken here. By "scam," I believe the complaining posters are referring to the deceptive marketing used to lure them to a sales presentation for "MEMBERSHIPS IN A VACATION CLUB, TIMESHARE, BUYING CLUB, OR OTHER SALES PROMOTION." The scam is in the marketing and not that there weren't prizes. I do not recall anyone saying there are no prizes.

- anonymous replies to Maria H.The letter is quite clear that this is a run-the-sales-gauntlet-for-a-freebie offer but people are not complaining about the letter which many if not most did not receive because they didn't get that far. I believe they are complaining about the deceptive marketing used during the *call,* not the letter, to lure them to a sales presentation for "MEMBERSHIPS IN A VACATION CLUB, TIMESHARE, BUYING CLUB, OR OTHER SALES PROMOTION."
- anonymous replies to ChrisRight after I post this, I will inform 800notes that Vandell will be suing them.
vandellcommunicationsllc.com IP=209.62.54.100 was created on 04/20/2011 and registered to Domains by Proxy, Inc. through GoDaddy --- a favorite tactic by owners who don't want to be found. The registration is only ~3 weeks old so I'd be *very* careful before doing any business with a website that's only ~3 weeks old, especially when the owners don't want to be found.
The word scam does not necessarily mean that people lost money. Scam can also be used when people are misled by the presentation of misleading information or the omission of relevant information that would affect their decision as to whether they would attend the sales presentation. This offer is not a scam in the strict sense of the word but the marketing is certainly deceptive. Callers say this is the last attempt to reach you and posters say this is the one and only call, there's never been a previous call. Posters say they haven't entered contests and won't believe the someone-entered-for-you story (the percentage of someone-entered-for-you seems high, isn't it like around close to 100% ??). Why is "THIS PROMOTION IS INTENDED TO AID IN SELLING MEMBERSHIPS IN A VACATION CLUB, TIMESHARE, BUYING CLUB, OR OTHER SALES PROMOTION" not stated during the initial call? Can you blame people for saying "scam?" - TANSTAAFLDarn. I was really hoping for a new car..... The voice from 866-213-9553 X243 specifically stated the it was in my "best interests" to return her call in a tone indicating she was weary of attempting to contact me and implying I was a blithering idiot if I didn't call back. I think "gullible" is written on my forehead..... Thankfully, my guardian angel was working overtime and had me google the number and find this site. Still - it would be nice to have a new car....

- anonymousDominick left a message on my 84 year old father's answering machine stating that we needed to call back asap to claim our Grand Prize winning. He left the number 866-312-9553, ext. 131 to call back and when I left my return number to contact me with an explanation of this winning, I received no call back. Obviously another scam targeted on the elderly.

- leoBGot a call from 773-358-1470 Vandel communications and was told this was the last call to attempt to contact me with free prize of either a Ford hybrid, 32'TV, $2500 or a free vacation pack. Was told to call back 866-312-9553 x 136 ask for Kimberly. I thought it may be legit but hubby said no way. Googled AB vacations and now reading all this negitive stuff. Thanks for all this info so I don't waste our time going to this 90 minute meeting to find out that my husband right. Its bad enough I have to tell him that he was RIGHT.

- vampyreboyrecieved a message from a very Southern sounding Michelle, from (?) Communications- could be Vadele, Vandell. Claims that I had one a new car, or one of the top 4 "MAJOR" prizes. She said this was her last attempt to contact me, first one Im aware of though, and that it was in my "best interests" to return her call. Kinda figured it was a scam, only cause, Im not one to enter contests, and she said that it was one that had been entered in the last 12-18 months... same story line as the other posts. Anyhow, the phone number is 1-866-312-9553 ext.243, and the callers name is Michelle. Man, I could really use a new car...

- mtrumantigeru| 2 repliesI got the same call, except my caller was a woman. what I find interesting is that all of us have won one of the top four prizes... how many top four prizes are there? more than four, apparently if we've all 'won'... Why wouldn't you just say one of our top prizes? But thats just semantics, I suppose. But how about giving a name? there are five people living in our home, which one of us entered this 'contest'? I entered over a year ago? what kind of a contest is this? No, I don't think I'll be calling you back, thanks, but no thanks.
