- tjI applied for an extended warranty through USAA and 2 days later I received a letter from Vehicle Assurance. I called them because the name was so similar to the name of the 3rd party USAA contracted. It turns out that they were not affiliated with USAA and the rates were 10 times as much as I was quoted on the USAA website. To their credit, the agent I spoke with was very professional. If it had not been for the price they quoted me, I might have been sucked in to this scam.

- LDGot a letter in the mail with this number. Didn't call because I saw a similar scam featured on American greed. And it looks like this company has pulled the same ploy...change the company name and perhaps even the front man's name.

- GlennGot the letter from "Vehicle Assurance", 325 Paul Avenue, St Louis, MO 63135. Also have received post cards, calls, other mail from various similar extended warranty/service contracts. All scams as far as i am concerned, way overpriced. Also getting these offers when my Cadillac is less than two years old, still has over two years full factory warranty and over 3 years factory power train warranty. To make things even worse, a representative of the dealer tried to sell me additional warranties in the dealership when I was completing the sales contract. Did not go for any of that crap. I get full maintenance free for four years plus the GM warranties. Why give them more money for nothing?

- Linn replies to JaneI just received this letter today after hours on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014 and need to call them by December 18, 2014, to hold my EVSP contract designed for my vehicle. Says to call immediately. They have my name, address car make and model and an ID number. Says to call 866-341-9255. What I do is go to my dealer and show them the letter and,et them know and ask about what this is all about. It's time I me to call Connie Lawson, Secretary of State who just ran for office for dealing scams. I get nothing but scammed everyday. But this does look authentic. My car is no where near one year mileage allotment let alone two years.

- Bill BThis a scam..............the letter states that I am a customer of theirs.........Customer ID#D5BXxxxxxx. I am not nor never have been a customer of theirs they state they can no longer honor the extended service contract quote for my 2007 Cadillac. ..........................I never got a "quote" from them. The State of Missouri or the City of St Louis needs to investigate them. Just search the net & you will find numerous similar complains.I'll bet if you ever submitted a claim to them they wouldn't pay.
- Withheld| 1 replySame old letter from Dale Stevens, Senior Program Advisor 1-866-341-9255: I know where my information was either passed or sold to this scam company. I registered my vehicle with the outside DMV tag agency in Daytona Beach, Fl. A few days passed and "bingo" in the mail was a letter from Vehicle Assurance telling me about their "warranty deal". I went to that agency a adamantly complained to the manager. He "knew nothing" about this! Ha! Someone in that agency knew, he wasn't saying. However, the letters and calls stopped. Someone is selling personal vehicle info and those that do should be prosecuted, including that agency. Who would try to sell a vehicle extended service contract on a vehicle that has over 150,000 miles? Answer, a scammer!

I do believe it is a scam and that they are getting the information from the dealer.

- Mr. WhiteJust got a letter saying "RE: 2016 Price Increase Notice" for my vehicle from "Vehicle Assurance, Vehicle service Contracts" at 325 Paul Ave, St. Louis, MO 63135 (no unit number.)
The first give away that this is not legitimate is that they do not include my VIN. In any case where you are sent a letter with respect to a warranty for a particular vehicle, they will include the VIN.
Second, their address is a shared industrial park building that is actually located in Ferguson, MO, two blocks from the Ferguson police department.
A look at Google Street View (looking at the sign to the dirt road entrance to their building) shows a number of companies, one of which is "Smith Insurance Group", a quick lookup of that business (http://www.manta.com/c/mm2yb8m/smith-insurance-group) shows that the owner is none other than "James Smith"... very nice.
Trust your instinct, scammers will always make their documents look legitimate to try to lure you in, but take the time to do a bit of research to protect yourself.- Caller: Vehicle Assurance AKA Smith Insurance Group
- JoeThese a$$holes have been harassing me for over 3 years😡. Somehow they procured my cell phone number and I've blocked at least 10 numbers. They call from different states too. I also get phony warranty snail mail. I wish someone would regulate these idiot scammers! I even told them I don't own the car anymore....

- owner name doesn't match dmvI too received a letter from Vehicle Assurance and signed by Dale Stevens, Senior Program Advisor to call 1(866)341-9255 about a price increase to their Extended Vehicle Service Plans (EVSP) effective January 15, 2016 and I should call prior to 1/14/2016 "so we can hold your EVSP contract at the lowest program rates." Here's the thing... my Audi is still under manufacturer's warranty as it's a 2014 model with 20K miles on it. AND they addressed the letter to my husband. Audi's documents showed my husband as the owner (which pissed me off -- and I reminded them that I wrote the check!) but the licensing through Illinois Secretary of State is in my name.

- Alasana| 2 repliesI just got a letter in the mail from Vehicle assurance with the phone number 866-341-9255. My make, model and year are listed on the letter as well my name and address. Where do they get such information. My vehicle is still under warranty through the dealership for another 24 months. Even if I were not under contract I would not call them. I have already been scammed by an extended warranty company once and I vowed it will not happen again.
