Same here, was on msn.com news site via google chrome.

Same red screen with warning.  I use dual screens.  The screen withe the message was frozen but my primary screen was fine.  Used task manager to close Chrome.

This is a chrome issue. I wonder if it is one of the addons. Same issue as others. It crashed my pc. Win 7

Using Google Chrome, watching Yahoo News when Red Page took over my screen.  I tried to close the tab but nothing happened.  However, this gave me time to write down the phone number.  I then jerked the tab loose from the window it was attached to (Yahoo eMail) and then was able to close it with the X button.  Will now scan PC with Norton and then Malwarebytes.

Same as all of the above while using Chrome, that seems to be a common thread, how unfortunate for all of us... I did not call the number, gotta do a system restore... :~/

Just had my computer locked up with the bright red screen.  The message said our bank account was being hacked and I needed to call the 866 #.  Luckily I was on the phone with our bank manager at the time and he said it was definitely a scam and to close the message immediately.

Same thing happened to me just now. I didnt call nor did i go into my accounts. i was on yahoo news

Popped up on my computer, BIG RED MESSAGE, "Computer compromised, warning from Google."  Gave # to call, 866-368-2344, freeze all bank accounts at once.  Couldn't clear message, had to shut down and restart.

I was on the same site when it happened to me!!!!

How do I unlock my computer?  I have the same red screen. Shut computer off for about 10 minutes but when I started back up, computer was still locked on red screen. Running antivirus scan now.

Just happened to me. Froze chrome. After reading the comments I agree it’s spam. Closed laptop, will do a full scan.
