It is Barclay.   It is legitimate.   I forgot to submit my payment 6 days ago when it was due.   I appreciate the call because I was able to pay it before it became a mark on my credit report.

It's also illegal for you to be calling her MOM about her debt in the first place!  The second you were told the number was mom's the calls to mom should have stopped.

All you need to hope for is that after 7 years that person still works at that bank, and then comes back here to see your post.

Good answer !!  I'm going to try it !  I have talked to them several times (total scam by the way - do not give out any personal info) and still they keep calling, only now they just hang up on me. But still call night and day

Send a letter to the attorney general of your state explain what is happening. Send a letter of validation certified mail signature reply card. They are legally bond to reply to that letter.and sometimes because this is a legal document if they don't reply with legal documents stating why you owe the debt poof it has to be removed.

they call constantly and I am on a do not call list.  I believe it is a scam telemarketer.

I don't know who this # is. No message left but have been getting calls morning noon and night. Calls should never be made after 8 p.m. and have been getting them as late as 9:30 p.m. they need to stop. If a card co. I'm not behind.

I finally answered and said I didn't believe they were legit when they claimed to be from Barclay.  I called the number on my bill and they said they had no record of calling me.  Total Scam, asking for Social Security Number.

The number may belong to Barclays but that doesn't guarantee the call is from Barclays. Phone numbers are too easily spoofed to trust a random caller asking for personal information. Best to hang up and call a known number for them, such as the one on your card or statement.
