I received a call from this number and since I don't take calls from unknown numbers, I decided to google it, which led me here.  Thank you to those who have posted about this number.  I have blocked this caller.

Called landline twice. CID Barclays Bank. This may or may not be a Barclays Bank number, but it is being SPOOFED!!! Some people may have legitimate business with Barclays Bank, but when the number is SPOOFED they are CRIMINALS calling to perpetrate a SCAM!! Beware!

Called landline two more times since our last post. Same CID. Again, hung up on answering machine. We Do Not answer unsolicitated calls. This is a very aggressive SCAMMER, SPOOFING the number that displays as Barclays Bank on CallerID.

Googled Barclays Bank as I'm getting this on caller Id on both home and cell. Goggle lists as a new online only bank. No one is ever on the phone. I've no debts in collections so after reading these posts I'm blocking the number

So its Sunday evening at 7:30 (PM keep in mind) and we recieve a phone call to our business which we incorporated into the house phone so we would only have one phone number and wouldn't be paying for another phone line. We have been receiving phone calls starting at 7AM all the way til 9 PM some days. Every time it comes up it says "Barclay's Bank" which is stationed in London for the UK branch but also has an international branch, neither of which are associated with 866-408-4070. I don't know who it REALLY is but its not a bank or anyone important, don't freak out or give them any personal info. Just know its a scam and inform them you will be contacting the FBI in regards to their impersonation of a bank and attempts at collecting personal information as well as harassment..I bet they won't call back anymore.

Well, it isn't Sunday, it is Saturday and I have to wonder why you made the same post twice and also why you don't know what day it is?

For the same reason she thinks the scammer will be scared by threats to contact the FBI & stop calling? She's delusional.

They've called me at least twice daily for the past week. I never answer. They claim to be from Barclay's Bank, but I don't have a card with that bank. When I tried to call the number back, they asked for me for last 4 digits of card (which I don't own) and last 4 digits of SSN. I blocked the number from my phone.

The person didn't seem to know English and was hard to understand.

I have been getting calls from this number many times . As the other people commented answer and no one is there .
I did get someone that said they were Barclay credit dept . She ask for me by name I said yes it is . Then the phone was beeping and it was no longer on line . Did not call back . Won’t answer again .

I do not take unwanated calls

This 866-408-4070 number is asking for my full SS# and or account # Barclays Bank.
When I call the number back no one answers. I don't know these people.

This number is a scam!!! Be very careful. They left a voicemail on my Mobile which was half-sent (not a full message). It was strange, so I called this number and it answered by someone else that left a message. The first thing they asked was for my ID number and the line was not very clear. I heard plenty of crackling noises and asked them what company did I call. They said it was Barclays, very politely they asked me if they can call me back. I refused and said that I will call them again using the number off the back of my card. So, I called the authentic Barclays Bank and checked with them. They have no record that the bank called me today. I asked them to verify if this hoax number belonged to them and they verified that it did NOT belong to Barclays Bank. So, be very careful!
