- PatS| 2 repliesI received multiple calls per day for many, many weeks / months from Asset Care, Inc (a credit collector) via automated phone message. They ask me to call 866 429 3591 and left a Reference ID# pertaining to their call. I usually just hang up, because I have no credit issues.
I received another call this morning (6/20/08) and decided to call them back. An operator named Sheryl from Asset Care, Inc asked for my phone number. I did not give it to her and only provided their Reference ID#. Sheryl asked if I was "Mr. Calendar," which I'm not and have no idea who this person is. Sheryl actually apologized to me and said she would "remove my number from their system immediately and they system would not call again." I thanked her for doing so...NOW let's see if Sheryl and her company are true to her word and remove my number from their system to prevent any further harassing calls. PatS- Caller: Asset Care, Inc

- The CaldwellsWe are being harrassed by Asset Care and have told them we do not owe them a penny. I am sick of them calling. The only reason we called them back is to let them know that they have the wrong person. My husband and I both have talked to them and they are very rude. They are also calling from 866-429-3597. The company she told me we owed was different than the one she told my husband and we have had no dealings with either one - not to mention that this was 10 years ago! We told them not to call again but they keep calling.

- Fed UpI just had another one of these calls from this number. Saying they are calling to collect a debt and to call back. When I called the number to let them know they have the wrong number, I get a recording saying the number is not in service. I'm really sick of these calls.

- scooterI have received letters thru the mail and numerous phone calls, they represent themselves as a ligitament collection agency, though thru an investagation by Georgia Legislators , this company hires people off the street to do telemarketing, then they "purchase" "real debts" that people owe , they have two departments in which workers work. The first is a research dept. where they use the internt and other resources too track people down. The second dept. is for collections. And yes , they are a legal company! And , yes , if you are a dead beat bill non-payer they'll use all resources too hunt you down and hound you day and night till you give in and pay your debt! "Or you can file a COMPLAINT " with the Ga. Bureau of Commerce , for unruly practices on the behalf of ASSETCARE.
"By the way Georgia Law allows these companies to report non-payment too your credit bureau's."- Caller: ASSETCARE,Inc.

- Carol F.When I pick up a recording says: "Good Bye" and hangs up.
When I called back the phone was answered by "Asset Care". When i asked them who/what they are they said they cannot discuss that and told me to hold. I did not want to pay for more for a long distance call; perhaps one of the readers in the 866 area code can follow-up and find out who and what they are. - Lisa*********IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ!!!! -- For those of you having a problem with the Assetcare collection agency, either on this phone number, or on number 866-429-3597. We too had recieved a letter from Assetcare, addressed to my husband, for a Sprint bill that we never had (we don't have Sprint service). I called it this morning. I spoke with a woman, who after after checking the info listed with the account number, read my the last 4 digits of the Social Security # associated with this debt. I told her that that was NOT my husband's Social and that we didn't have Sprint. I also told her that there was no one else in our home associated with it. The problem really began when I asked her if there had been any negative claim filed with one of the Credit Bureaus, as I needed to protect our credit, and not have a false, negative claim listed. (A valid point, don't you think). Anyway, she starts screaming and yelling at me, and told me to get a life. I told her I had a very valid reason to be concerned, that if they could mistakenly send us the bill, then they could have mistakenly filed a false credit report with one of the Credit Bureaus. Again she yelled at me. I asked to speak with a manager and she slammed the phone down. I then checked with their website, but saw that it was only set up for bill paying. Finally, I did a quick search on the internet for Assetcare and their parent company (NCO Group), and I came across this website. Anyway, I called and spoke with Cindy Johnson, the Assistant to Joshua Gindin, from NCO Group, whom all of this eventually gets reported to. She was VERY NICE and immediately said she wanted to take action to resolve this and clear up the problem. I sent her the link to this website. (Cindy can be reached by calling 800-220-2274, press the voice system link to get company directory, put in the person's last name when in the section of employee directory (Joshua Gindin). You should get her at this point, and explain your problem. ALSO, she gave me the name of Dina Sha'altiel, who is from NCO, but who is the first line manager in dealing with Assetcare Inc. Dina's number is 215-442-8317, or 800-550-9619, ext. 8317). I also spoke to Dina, who also was very nice, immediately pulled up the file and said she was going to thoroughly investigate this and deal with the problem. So those of you having these problem, should probably at least go this route. By the way, years ago, when I first graduate from college and my parents move to another state, I was making very little money and the bills really started piling up (no, I wasn't shopping crazily, I was just trying to pay my bills and live). Anyway, the bills started piling up. I started getting some harassing calls. What I will tell any of you who have this problem is, even if you can't pay the whole bill, make an effort to pay something. Even if you owe $10,000, try to pay $20 or $10 (obviously more if you can). And always write polite notes with your bill stating that you fully intend to pay down your debt, this way they can never say you didn't show good faith). If you still need to credit your credit card rate reduced or your debt itself reduced, do this, separate from bill paying, but still make an effort to send something, if possible. And, eventually you should start to pull yourself out of debt, just like I did. Well, I wish you all the best of luck.

- Candbhawkins| 1 replyBesides the average daily harrassment, Asset Care is a royal pain. I do understand that I owe for back medical. After all, I'm 29 and totally disabled. But this one gentleman called my house over 40 times in 2 hours and threated me and my family. I have the conversations recorded on my andwering machine and the calls reported. But because I owe them, this is not harassment, but just "an attempt to collect a debt". Now they just call 2 times a day... LMFAO!!!!

- confusedi got two of these calls today. when i called the 800 (or 866) number back, i told them i had received a call from them stating that they were trying to collect on a debt. I HAD PROVIDED NO INFORMATION AT THIS THIS and the lady told me that they were looking for Scott (something). I was extrememly confused because i had not even told her my "reference number" or anything else at that point. so, how did she know which account i had received a call about. i told her that this person did not live here. so, she said, ok, give me your phone number. hesitant to give out any of my information, i asked if i could just give her my "reference number" instead. she said that she needed my home phone number so that she could remove me from the list. i was still hesitant to give her my number, but decided that i don't think she can do anything with just my phone number since she didn't have any other personal information of mine. Still, i am aware of all of the identity theft that has been occuring lately. does anyone know if this company has been identified as a company that tries to steal people's identities?

- i'm not Kathy JonesI have these stupid asp-holes calling me almost every day. I call them back and they want to speak to a "Kathy Jones" about a debit collection. I told them "Kathy Jones" doesn't live here and and "Kathy Jones" is most likely a fictitious name on a credit application and she screwed someone over and I am taking the fault simply because this [***] used our ph #.
The dumb basses call back the next day. They will not take me off the list. These people are the scum of the earth and belong in the same room in Hell along with ALL the telemarketers.- Caller: NA

- NAI have been getting calls from this number for 2 or 3 years, I think. Sometimes the number ends in 92 and sometimes 91. I am usually told to call Mr. Meade or given a reference number. I ahve never called them back because the messages seem fishy. A few times actual people have left messages. One very strange one had an Indian women leaving the message but in the background you could hear someone sounding like a young black man asking someone else what they were doing later. I did have some complications with my Sprint service a few years back but, after several phone calls they assured me that our business was resolved.
