Calls both house and cell phone...no message....hangs up

First call. Received voicemail regarding Paypal account, notifying of auto-switch to paperless statements.

Another attempt at the PayPal scam, apparently just calling random numbers, since the number they dialed is not listed and is only used as an internal number at the company where I work.

A voice mail was left telling me there was an issue with my "PayPal Plus" account and I should call right away. I don't have a PayPal account so it is likely this is just a phishing attempt to get bank account information.

This is a scam people dont fall for it.

Yes, this has been my experience, too. It's as though they've deliberately set things up so people can't access their information, and so mistrust the company to such a degree that they refuse to pay their bill.

Then, since they're completely inaccessible through normal channels (calling leads to wasted hours as you get transferred over and over again, then end up getting the initial automated operator) they cajole you into paying their exorbitant fees.

I had a paypal credit card for years, and always paid the full balance on time. Then, out of the blue, they cancelled the card, put a fraud alert on, [***] up my credit rating, and became inaccessible.

I advice anyone to NEVER take out a Paypal credit card, as they're crooks.

Got a call from them at 8:46 AM, woke me UP! (I am an amputee, I HATE unnecessary calls!) Well, I called them back. I received a canned recording telling me to enter my account #. Then is said I needed to enter it within the allotted time. This repeated about 3 times. They then switched over to ringing up someone else due to my noncompliance. I did not stay around to find out what would happen next. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Why on earth would I give a complete stranger my account # without so much as an explanation?! This has SCAM written all over it. I am now going to contact the real GE MONEY/PayPal and give them the word up!

I have the same experiences. I also get 6 or more calls a day from this number. The first is never earlier than 8:00 AM and the last is never later than 8:59 PM. I answered this number once unaware. A computerized voice asked for me, and that was all. There was no identification as to who was calling (other than the number). When I did not respond to this computerized voice, the call was dropped within 10 seconds. I did what you did, and I log the number of times this number calls me on a daily basis, and erase the calls from history.

I was not called from this number.

This is the number I was given to 'complete cancellation' of a membership to LookUp Ltd. I signed on to get a $1 trial membership in order to get a VIN trace.

The report came up totally empty, so I asked for a refund and cancellation. Now they want me to call this number to 'complete the cancellation process', or they will begin billing me monthly for the 'service'.

After calling I was given a cancellation # and all seems to be OK.

Keeps calling ,when i answer, no one is there! I am tired of it!

I have been getting calls from this number when I called the automated answering said it was Paypal. Checked my account online, no reason for them to be calling me, certainly not on a Sunday morning. I worked in the telecommunications industry for a while and know that a technician can program the phone system to send out any digits they program to display as the Caller ID. This may be an actual number at Paypay but, that is just a very smart part of the SCAM. They are sending out the digits for a real number in case you call it to check. Then the next time they call, you will answer because you think they are really calling from PayPal. DON'T BE FOOLED. THIS IS NOT A CALL FROM PAYPAL.
Go check your Paypal account or call the Paypay number on the Paypal website. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE ANY ACCOUNT INFORMATION.

How about everyone who receives these calls phones them on the first business day of the month.

Just keep calling them and hanging up. Let's blow up their lines!!!

It's a scam folks.  DO NOT ANSWER OR PROVIDE ANY SENSITIVE INFO.  GE/PAYPAL will not call harrassing especially by automated message and especially international.  File a complaint, for every complaint, they will be hit hard where they're trying to get to you...your wallet!

I have GE/PAYPAL credit card, and made a simple phone call to them directly, and no such calls were made to me especially asking me to make payments over the phone.

Scammers. I just called Paypal's customer service people to have this investigated. The result? The people who phoned me from 800-945-6596 were liars. They claimed a Paypal account had been opened and maxed out and claimed my identity had been stolen. They wanted to confirm the last 4 didgits of my SSN. When I said no, they gave me 866-437-2514 to call back. I will also be reporting them to the authorities, although it appears they've been doing this for years.

Wife took a call from these bozos a couple of weeks ago, she took a message that my PayPal payment was late and that it should be payed over the phone. She told them she'd give me the message and hung up.  I called PayPal later and their scam department said the caller was phishing. He tried the number, then refered me to this site.  I have had no problems with my account, so it's just a bunch of someone's ____!

Have received repeated calls from this number recently, sometimes saying it is a collect call but today saying it was a call for me.   They had my first and last names, though they gave the first name with a french pronunciation.    Called ID said "PayPal Plus".      I generally have not answered, and when I do, I have not pushed button #2 or #1, as the recorded message asks me to do.    Scammers.
